Week-ending Saturday 26th August 2023

Saturday next 2nd September will see the Junior Divisions commence in competition. This Season two divisions will be in operation Division One with 12 Teams and Division Two with 14 teams.

Saturday will also see a full list of Intermediate Games being played so hopefully the weather will be kind.

INTERMEDIATE

LEAGUE

COOKSTOWN YOUTH 2 - 1 BALLYNURE OB

The Youth went in front after Curtis Hassan converted a penalty on the 14th minute then saw Ballynure equalise after Cameron Bell scored on the 20th minute. Half time was approaching when Lee Glasgow scored for the Youth on the 41st minute and this score remained until the final whistle with the only thing of note being the Youth having a man sent off on the 82nd minute.

DESERTMARTIN 2 - 1 CHIMNEY CORNER

The Martins went in front after Eamon Og McAllister scored on the 14th minute and this goal separated the teams at half-time. The Martins then went two goals ahead after Jamie Donnell scored on the 59th minute. The Corner never gave up the chase, but it was late in the day when Ryan Clarke scored for them on the 92nd minute.

DONEGAL CELTIC 2 - 0 NEWTOWNE

This game saw lots of good scoring chances created by both teams, but it was Celtic who made the most of theirs. The first goal was scored by James Mullan on the 60th minute and this goal separated the teams until Conor Glenholmes scored a second goal for Celtic on the 71st minute to seal the win.

GLEBE RANGERS 0 - 0 WELLINGTON REC

Both teams will create fewer chances in other game but score more goals than they did on Saturday resulting in no goals and a point each at they final whistle.

DUNLOY 2 - 2 St JAMES SWIFTS

St James went in front after Jamie Sharvin scored on the 6th minute then Kyle Robinson equalised for Dunloy on the 14th minute. Half-time saw the teams still level then on the 60th minute Darragh Fagan scored to put Dunloy in front. The Swifts had a club official dismissed from the dug-out on the 67th minute before Conor Sullivan scored the equaliser on the 75th minute.

NEWBUILDINGS UNITED 1 - 3 BALLYMONEY UNITED

Ballymoney were in front within the first two minute of the game when Jake Francis scored on the 2nd minute. Newbuildings hit back with Stephen Curry scoring on the 14th minute to level the score. No more goals were scored before Newbuildings had a man sent off on the 45th minute. The game progressed into the final minutes when Ballymoney struck twice with Chandler Douglas scoring on the 82nd minute and Rafferty McKay scoring on the 87th minute leaving the home side shocked.

BRANTWOOD 3 - 1 RATHCOOLE

Rathcoole got off to a god start with Kai Hefferon scoring on the 11th minute and held this advantage until Richard Macauley equalised for Brantwood on the 40th minute. Brantwood went in front after Richard Macauley scored his second goal on the 48th minute and sealed the win after Reece Gilmour scored their third goal on the 52nd minute.

BELFAST CELTIC 2 - 0 STRABANE ATHLETIC

Celtic were early on attack taking the lead after Ronan Hamil, scored on the 14th minute and at half-time this goal separated the teams. There was little between the teams until the 66th minute when Rory Patterson scored a second goal for Celtic to ensure the win in a game which saw Celtic have Six Players cautioned and Strabane Five Cautioned.
