Strabane Athletic take the plaudits after a very emphatic 5-0 win away to Fivemiletown United in Saturdays 4th Round of the Irish Cup. This sees Strabane then in the hat with the Senior Clubs for a place in the 5th Round to be played in January.

INTERMEDIATE

LEAGUE

GROUP A

WELLINGTON REC 1 - 3 CHIMNEY CORNER

The first goal in the game was scored by Leon Carley on the 33rd minute that put the Corner ahead followed on the 37th minute with George Campbell scoring a second goal for the Corner. The next goal in the game was scored by Campbell Eagleson on the 95th minute making it three nil for the Corner before Daryl Baston got a goal back for Wellington on the 97th minute.

NEWTOWNE 0 - 4 DONEGAL CLETIC

Celtic went in front after Odhran Craig scored on the 7th minute but the second goal in the game was not scored until William McCracken scored for Celtic on the 57th minute. Celtic got a third goal after Pierce Arteton scored on the 76th minute and sealed the win when James McHugh scored on the 83rd minute.

GROUP B

BELFAST CELTIC 3 - 1 WAKEHURST

The first half saw little to choose between the team until Jason Paul scored on the 45th minute to put Wakehurst ahead. Celtic got back on level terms after Ronan Hamill scored on the 58th minute then two goals scored by Anthony Nelson 85th and Shane McKiernen secured the win for Celtic and Wakehurst having a man sent off on the 88th minute.

St JAMES SWIFTS 1 - 4 RATHCOOLE

Rathcoole hit top form in this game taking the lead after Kai Hefferson scored on the 43rd minute followed by goals scored by Philip Maybin 51st and Kyle Leighton 61st minutes. Rathcoole had a man sent off on the 75th minute then St James pulled a goal back after Eugene Galagher scored on the 85th minute. Time was almost up when Kyle Leighton scored his second goal in the game on the 97th minute.

GROUP Two

MAIDEN CITY 0 - 1 NEWBUILDINGS UNITED

This was a typical derby game between two evenly matched teams. Chances came and went for both with the only conversion being a goal scored by Jack McClelland on the 36th minute giving Newbuilding the win.

GROUP Four

DESERTMARTIN 1 - 1 GLEBE RANGERS

Both teams had a couple of chance to sore before Harry Kirkpatrick scored for Glebe on the 29th minute giving his team the advantage at half-time. The Martins got back on level terms after David Dripps scored on the 55th minute and this scoreline remained until the final whistle.

IFA IRISH CUP 4th ROUND

ROSEMOUNT REC 3 - 1 BALLYMONEY UNITED

Rosemount took an early lead in this game when Andy Dummigan scored on the 13th minute. Ballymoney got back level after Jake Francis scored on the 53rd minute. Rosemount regained the lead after Curtis Giltrap scored on the 59th minute and an own goal conceded by Ballymoney on the 71st minutes sealed the win for the home side.

FIVEMILETOWN UNITED 0 - 5 STRABANE ATHLETIC

Both teams played it very tight at the start with few clear chances before David Doran scored on the 41st minute putting Strabane ahead at half-time. The second half saw Strabane pushing forward and this paid off with David Doran completing his hat-trick after scoring on the 73rd and 75th minutes. Things got better for Strabane when Oran McShane scored their fourth goal on the 78th minute and on the 86th minute Delcan Sharkey scored goal number five which give Strabane a plum draw when the opposition could be against one of the Senior Clubs in the competition.

JUNIOR DIVISIONS

ONE

KILLYMOON RANGERS 5 - 1 MALONEYS

The Rangers went two goals clear after Luke Patterson scored a brace on the 38th and 42nd minutes. The Rangers went on to go five goals clear scored by Matthew McMenemy on the 56th and 79th minutes and Richard Donaghy on the 83rd minute. Time was almost up when Stephen McConnell scored for Maloneys on the 85th minute.

SOFIA FARMER 2 - 1 DESERTMARTIN SWIFTS

GREENCASTLE ROVERS 9 - 0 3rd BALLYCLARE OB

The Rovers were in charge of this game from the 19th minute when Danile Moore scored. More goals followed scored by Nathan Moore 32nd, Paul McAdorey 41st, Jordan O’Kane 51st, Daniel McLarnon 58th, Nathan Moore 72nd, Nathan Moore 81st, Jrdan O’Kane 87th and Mark Tutin 88th minutes.

RATHCOOLE RESERVES 3 - 3 St JAMES SWIFTS RES

Rathcoole went in front after Ian Hunter scored on the 9th minute then followed with his second goal on the 29th minute. St James hit back with Oran McManus scoring on the 37th minute then had a man sent off on the 59th minute before Liam Lavery equalised on the 69th minute. St James went in front after Daniel McMullan converted a penalty on the 74th minute but Rathcoole hit back with David Kernohan equalising on the 84th minute.

GREENISLAND DEV 1 - 3 BELFAST ATHLETIC

The Athletic went in front after Jonathan O’Neil scored on the 28th minute then went two goals clear after Gary Reilly scored on the 40th minute. The Athletic went three goals clear after Thomas Kennedy scored on the 47th minute and saw the scoring stop until Alex Haggan got a goal back for the Islanders on the 85th minute.

TWO

BALLYCLARE NORTH END 0 - 6 BALLYNURE OB ‘B’

The Nure came out on top of this game between the close neighbours. Ballynure went two goals in front scored by Stephen Coulter 8th and Peter Wilson 21st minutes. Micheal Duff scored on the 44th minute followed by Peter Wilson 60th, Marc Campbell 70th and Terry Lyness 88th minutes competing the scoring.

LOUGHSIDE 2 - 2 DONEGAL CELTIC RES

The first goal in the game was scored by Ciaran Lundy which put Celtic in front on the 45th minute. Leigh McCullough equalised for Loughside on the 47th minute. Ciaran Lundy scored his second goal on the 58th minute putting Celtic back in front then with time running down Chris Torrens scored on the 84th minute to give Loughside a point at the end.

GRANGE RANGERS 4 - 5 RED STAR

This was certainly a high scoring game between two evenly matched teams. Grange went in front after Nathan Simmons scored on the 10th minute Then Darren Nelson equalised for the Star on the 19th minute. A penalty converted by Darren Nelson on the 31st minute put Star ahead followed by Lloyd Watters scoring their third goal on the 48th minute. Craig Acheson got a goal back for Grange on the 60th minute followed by Lloyd Watters scoring his second goal on the 71st minute. Matthew Forsythe scored for Grange on the 83rd minute before Lloyd Watters completed his hat trick on the 93rd minute and the final goal was scored by Matthew Forsythe for Grange on the 96th minute.

NEWINGTON RANGERS 5 - 1 BELFAST CELTIC RES

Celtic went in front after Chris McDonald scored on the 23rd minute then Brooklyn Allen equalised for Rangers on the 50th minute. Rangers went in front after Lindsay Carroll scored on the 58th minute followed by goals scored by Jason Hawthorne 63rd and 70th and David Steele 77th minutes.

NORTH BELFAST UNITED 5 - 0 WELLINGTON REC II

The North went in front after Brooklyn Duncan scored on the 9th minute then had to wait until Liam Gowdy scored their second goal on the 66th minute. The North went on to score three more goals through Brooklyn Duncan Penalty 71st minute, Adam Wright 86th and Finton O’Neil 92nd minutes.

HIGHTOWN ATHLETIC 1 - 5 GREENCASTLE ROVERS II

The Rovers went in front after Cormac Morrison scored on the 29th minute then Martin Coyle made it two nil on the 48th minute. The Rovers went three goals ahead after Declan Maloney sored on the 63rd minute followed by Martin Coyle scoring his second goal on the 67th minute. Jordan Bryans got a goal back for Hightown on the 70th minute only to see Micheal Smyth score a fifth goal for Rovers on the 97th minute.
