Week-ending Saturday 18th November 2023

Fortunately, we only lost three games on Saturday due to wet Pitches.

In the games played five teams were on the winning side in the Irish FA Intermediate Cup and now await the Draw for the Third Round.

In the Irish FA Junior Two of our Three Teams progress with wins to the Fourth Round.

INTERMEDIATE

LEAGUE

MAIDEN CITY 3 - 1 CHIMNEY CORNER

City went in front when Stephen Duffy scored on the 12th minute then were two in front after Jack Millar scored on the 42nd minute. The Corner go back into the game after Leon Carley scored on the 57th minute then City sealed the win after Gary McFadden scored on the 70th minute.

DESERTMARTIN 1 - 1 COOKSTOWN YOUTH

After a steady start by both teams the Martins went in front when Jonathan McLean scored on the 40th minute. The single goal separated the teams as time ran down then Curtis Hassan scored on the 93rd minute giving the teams a point each.

IFA INTERMEDIATE CUP 2nd ROUND

DUNLOY 3 - 0 LAURELVALE

Dunloy went in front after Conan McAuley scored on the 2nd minute but had to wait util the 61st minute for their second goal scored by Jak Magee. Time was almost up when Samuel Irwin scored on the 89th minute.

NEWBUILDINGS UNITED 7 - 1 TULLYCARNET

The Buildings went two goals in front scored by Matthew Pierce on the 20th and 22nd minutes. Tullycarnet got back in the game after Svetezar Zdravkov scored on the 25th minute. The visitors then had a man sent off on the 46th minute this being followed by Matthew Pierce completing his hat-trick on the 47th minute. Tullycarnet then had two men sent off on the 48th minute this being followed by goals scored Jack McLelland 54th, Jordan Thompson 67th, Matthew Pierce 72nd Sam Dougherty 90 minutes for Newbuildings.

STRABANE ATHLETIC 4 - 1 CARRICK RANGERS RES

Strabane went two goals in front scored by Warner Mullan on the 7th and 31st minutes. Carrick got a goal back after Oliver Robinson scored on the 49th minute. Strabane sealed the win with goals scored by Kelvin Nelson on the 72nd minute and Daniel Dooran on the 78th minute.

WAKEHURST 5 - 4 St OLIVER PLUNKETT

This was certainly a high scoring game which saw Wakehurst go three goals in front scored by Jamie Houston 3rd and 36th minute and Cameron Neilly in between on the 8th minute. The visitors got back to three each with goal scored by Michael Mervyn 39th and Sean Johnston 59th and 61st minutes. Callum Ross put Wakehurst in front again on the 74th minute followed by Leon Paton making it two in front on the 77th minute. Time was almost up when Conal Duffy scored for the visitors on the 89th minute.

WELLINGTON REC 1 - 0 BRYANSBURN RANGERS

The was a close game throughout the ninety minutes with a goal scored by Christopher Guiller on the 45thminute giving the Rec the win on the Day.

ARDS RANGERS 2 - 1 BALLYMONEY UNITED

Three goals scored within three minutes settled the result of this Cup Tie. First Joshua Cash scored for Rangers on the 73rd minute followed by Michael Hunter scoring on the 75th minute then the Rangers conceded an own goal on the 76th minute.

GLEBE RANGERS 2 - 4 HOLYWOOD

The visitors went in front after Rudi Little scored on the 11th minute this being followed by another two goals scored by Callum James 13th and Stephen Anderson 28th minutes. Glebe got back into the game after Harry Kirkpatrick converted a penalty n the 32nd minute and scored again on the 48th minute. Holywood hit back with Rudi Little scoring his second goal on the 50th minute. Three players were sent off in the game One from Glebe on the 90th minute and two from Holywood on the 31st and 86th minutes.

St JAMES SWIFTS 1 - 2 ROSEMOUNT REC

St James went in front after Ryan McMenamin scored on the 9th minute and this goal separated the teams at half-time. Rosemount got back level after Beau Tosh scored on the 53rd minute then went in front after Luke Adair scored on the 70th minute. St James then had a man sent off on the 76th minute and two more off on the 90th minute plus a red cared to a player after the final whistle to complete a miserable day.

JUNIOR DIVISIONS

ONE

St JAMES SWIFTS RES 2 - 1 DESERTMARTIN SWIFTS

The Swifts went in front after Daniel Mullan scored on the 29th minute then added a second goal when Declan McCrory scored on the 53rd minute. The Martins hit back with Jeff Morton scoring on the 73rd minute but failed to get the equaliser. Referee Mr Stephen Grant

3rd BALLYCLARE OB 0 - 1 RATHCOOLE RES

Rathcoole went in front after Kyle Leighton scored on the second minute and this goal separated the teams at the break. Ballyclare then had man sent off on the 69th minute and Rathcoole went on to win the game.

SOFIA FARMER 0 - 1 GREENISLAND DEVELOPMENT

This was a keenly contested game and at the end it was a goal scored by Alex Haggan on the minute that settled the result in favour of the Islanders. Referee Mr Mark O’Neil

INSPIRED COMMUNITY 3 - 3 COOKSTOWN OLYMPIC

The first goal in the game was scored by Aiden Doyle on the 46th minute putting the Olympic ahead. Inspired hit back with three goals scored by Malan Sanha 70th, Franklin Arboola 76th and Mohammed Salouka 77th minutes. The Olympic hit back with goals scored by Rian Connery 87th and Paul Stewart 94th minutes to salvage a point.

TWO

AHOGHILL THISTLE DEV 1 - 4 WELLINGTON REC II

The Thistle went in front after Dane Archer scored on the 26th minute then goals scored by Ruchard Wilson on the 28th and 35th minutes saw the Rec in front at half-time. The Rec went on to score three more goals by Jamie Magee 58th Richard Wilson 80th and Andrew Morton 82nd minutes without reply.

BALLYNURE OB ‘B’ 7 - 1 BELFAST CELTIC RES

Ballynure took a four-goal lead with goals cored by Jay Williamson-Black 11th, Marc Campbell 19th, Kyle Abernethy 36th and Marc Campbell 42nd minutes. Celtic got a goal back after scored on the 71st minute only to see Peter Wilson score on the 81st and 85th minutes and Stewart Coulter on the 90th minute for Ballynure.

NORTH BALLYMENA RGS 4 - 6 NORTH BELFAST UNITED

The United went in front after Brooklyn Duncan scored on the 14th minute. Rangers answered this with four goals scored by Paul Rainey 29th Richard Rock 31st, Charlie Knowles 42nd and Corey McDowell 49th minutes. The United came back with goals scored by Ryan Maxwell 51st, Brooklyn Duncan 65th, Adam Wright 69th and Liam Gowdy 91st and 95th minutes to take all three points.

HIGHTOWN ATHLETIC 2 - 2 NEWINGTON RANGERS

The Rangers went in front after Brooklyn Allen scored on the 38th minute then got a second goal scored by Andrew Hall on the 57th minute. The Athletic got back in the game after Michal McIlkenny scored on the 63rd and the equaliser on the 76th minute.

RED STAR 3 - 1 GREENCASTLE ROVERS II

No goals were scored before half-time then Matthew McFaul scored for the Star on the 64th minute. The Rovers replied with Caolan McMullan scoring on the 76th minute only to see Richard McNally score a brace of goals for the Star on the 77th and 87th minutes.

Grange Rangers forfeited game due to sickness within the Club.

IFA JUNIOR CUP 3rd ROUND

GREENCASTLE ROVERS 2 - 0 RED STAR

No goals were scored in the first half of this game. Two goals scored by Jack Parke on the 63rd minute and Sean Derry on the 85th minute take the Rovers into the 4th Round of the competition.

KILLYMOON RANGERS 7 - 2 ANNALONG

The Moon were never in any danger in this game scoring Seven goals through Eoin Gallagher 6th, Richard Donaghy 15th, 18th 61stst, Matthew McMenemy 34th, Jason Park 50th and Luke Patterson 91st minutes. Annalong goals were scored by Brian McIlmurray 51st and Mark Newell 62nd minutes.

BELFAST ATHLETIC 1 - 4 LISBELLAW UNITED

The Athletic went two goals down scored by Paul McGrath on the 26th and 38th minutes. Martin Reilly got a goal back for the Athletic on the 75th minute but two more goals scored by Scott Johnston 85th and Craig Johnston 90th minutes sealed the win for the visitors.
