On Saturday the shortage of Junior referees was visible with four games cancelled due to no Official Referees being available.

On the playing side it was a disappointing day for Greencastle Rovers who lost out in the CAFA Junior Shield on Penalties after playing with Ten men from the 14th minute plus extra-time

INTERMEDIATE

LEAGUE

GROUP A

COOKSTOWN YOUTH 0 - 2 MAIDEN CITY

The City were early on the attack then taking the lead after Kealan McDermott scored on the 25th minute. Half-time was then beckoning when Bobby Sweeney scored a second goal for City on the 42nd minute. The Youth never gave up the chase to get back in the game, but City went on to defend their two-goal advantage to the final whistle.

GROUP B

BELFAST CELTIC 1 - 4 St JAMES SWIFTS

It was the visitors who took the plaudits in this local derby game. With half-time almost reached and no goals scored Ciaran Hyland scored on the 44th minute putting St James ahead. Celtic hit back early in the second half with Ronan Hamill scoring on the 52nd minute. St James went in front for a second time after Aaron Martin scored on the 58th minute. Two goals scored by Conal Burns on the 76th and 93rd minutes sealed the win for St James.

GROUP ONE

DONEGAL CELTIC 1 - 1 BRANTWOOD

This was a tight struggle between two evenly matched teams for the entire game though Brantwood had a man sent off on the 64th minute. Brantwood went in front after Jack Rainey converted a penalty on the 36th minute and this score remained at half-time. The single goal separated the teams until the 89th minute when Pierce Arteton scored for Celtic.

RATHCOOLE 0 - 0 WELLINGTON REC

Clear cut chances were at a premium in this game and as a result the teams had to settle for a point each at the final whistle.

CHIMNEY CORNER 0 - 2 WAKEHURST

Though there were chances for both teams to score but no goals were scored in the first half. Things changed early in the second half when Leon Patton scored for Wakehurst on the 52nd minute. The game progressed into the final minutes when Ben McCormich scored a second goal for Wakehurst on the 86th minute.

GROUP Four

GLEBE RANGERS 1 - 2 DUNLOY

This was a very close game with the result in doubt up to the final whistle. Glebe went in front after Bobby-Jack McAleese scored on the 30th minute and at half-time this score remained. Time was beginning to run down when Dunloy got back level after Darragh Fagan scored on the 82nd minute. Dunloy then got a second goal scored by Kyle Robinson on the 86th minute which decided the result at the end.

DESERTMARTIN 0 - 5 BALLYMONEY UNITED

Both teams played it tight at the start of the game with the first goal being scored by Chandler Douglas on the 37th minute. After this the game opened up with Jake Francis pitting Ballymoney two goals ahead on the 47thmute. The Martins tried hard to get back into the game, but it was Ballymoney who went on to scored three more goals through Matthew Knight on the 53rd and 66th minutes and Ryan Craig on the 89th minute.

ONE

MALONEYS 4 - 7 St JAMES SWIFTS Res

The Swifts went two goals clear after Caoinhin Norney scored on the 12th minute and Daniel Mullan converted a penalty on the 15th minute. Jackson Crymble then converted a penalty for Maloneys on the 31st minute followed by Ben Fletched equalising on the 41st minute, The Swifts went on to score Five ore goals through Matthew McDonald 41st, Daniel Mullan 52nd, Oran McManus 60th and Matthew McDonald 62nd and 83rd minutes. Maloneys then hit back with Stephen McConnell scoring a brace on the 89th penalty and 90th minutes.

LOUGHSIDE 5 - 1 BELFAST CELTIC RESERVES

Celtic went in front after Chris McDonald scored on the 13th minute then saw Leigh McCullough cancel this out when scoring on the 24th minute. Leigh McCullough scored his second goal on the 51st minute followed by Stewart Moore scoring on the 74th minute. Leigh McCullough brought his tally to four goals in the game scoring on the 81st and 88th minutes.

WELLINGTON REC II 4 - 1 GRANGE RANGERS

Grange went in front after Paul Martin scored on the 44th minute then saw Lewis Henry scored a brace of goals for the Rec on the 70th and 75th minutes. The Rec then secured the win after Ryan Hill and Kelan McDonald scored on the 85th and 92nd minutes.

NORTH BALLYMENA RGRS 0 - 6 NEWINGTON RANGERS

Newington went two goals in front scored by Jason Hawthorne on the 26th and 44th minutes. Two more goals scored by Jordan Withers and Lindsay Carroll on the 47th and 51st minutes saw the visitors well in front. North Ballymena then had man sent off on the 72nd minute before Jason Hawthorne and Alecander Kerr scored on the 84th and 86th minutes.

DONEGAL CLETIC RES 3 - 2 HIGHTOWN ATHLETIC

Celtic got off to a terrific start with James Mullan scoring on the 3rd minute followed by Ciaran Lundy on the 4th minute. Darragh Mooney scored on the 20th minute to bring the Athletic back into the game then a penalty converted by Michael McClorey on the 47th minute saw Celtic two goals in front again. The Athletic cut the deficit to a goal when Nathan Johnston converted a penalty on the 62nd minute and this score remained until the final whistle.

GREENCASTLE ROVERS 1 - 1 (aet) DUNDELA FC RES (Dundela win 4-2 on Penalties)

The Rovers holders of the trophy lost out in penalties after the teams were locked at one each after extra-time. The Rovers had their keeper sent off on the 14th minute and Matthew Robinson converted the resulting penalty for Dundela. The Rovers got back level after Daniel Moore scored on the 52nd minute but could get the elusive goal they were seeking. With no more goals scored then penalties were taken to decide the result.
