The draw was made for the Quarter finals of the IFA Intermediate Cup mid-week. This resulted in Strabane Athletic away to Ballymacash Rangers and Newbuildings United at home to Queens University on Saturday 9th March 2024.

Both games will certainly be tight for our league teams, but both can reach the semi-finals.

INTERMEDIATE

LEAGUE

Group A

COOKSTON YOUTH 5 - 0 GLEBE RANGERS

The Youth took a two-goal lead with goals scored by Curtis Hassan and Kieffer Scott on the 19th and 27th minutes this score remaining at half-time. The Youth went further ahead when Keiffer Scott scored his second goal on the 62nd minute followed by Curtis Hassan and Jordan Young scoring on the 87th and 92nd minutes.

DUNLOY 2 0 BRANTWOOD

Dunloy went in front after Dermott McErlain scored on the 34th minute then went two in front after Dermott he scored his second goal on the 47th minute. Dunloy then had man sent off on the 60th minute but held out to claim the win.

McReynolds Cup Quarter Final

BELFAST CELTIC 1 - 2 STRABANE ATHLETIC

No goals had been scored at half-time in this game then Celtic took the lead after Ryan McPhillips scored on the 73rd minute. Strabane hit back with Gary Merritt scoring on the 82nd minute. Strabane got a second goal scored by Darren McMonigle on the 85th minute that won them the game.

NEWBUILDINGS UNITED 5 2 St JAMES SWIFTS

St James went in front after Eugene Gallagher converted a penalty on the 9th minute. Newbuildings had man sent off on the 18th minute before Matthew Pierces equalised for Newbuildings on the 21st minute. St James went in front again after Francis Nolan scored on the 25th minute this was followed by a brace of goals scored by Stephen Curry on the 31st and 44th minutes putting Newbuildings in front. Newbuildings went further in front with goals scored by Jack McClelland 49th and Matthew Pierce 67th minutes. Newbuildings had a second played sent off on the 71st minute and St James a man off on the 81st minute.

Group 1

CHIMNEY CORNER 0 - 3 BALLYMONEY UNITED

Half-time was almost reached when Luke McConnell scored for United on the 43rd minute. Luke McConnell scored his second goal on the 62nd minute and completed his hat-trick on the 93rd minute sealing the win for the United.

WAKEHURST 0 - 3 DONEGAL CELTIC

Celtic went in front after Kieran Fay-Kelly scored on the 2nd minute then added to this when Abel Ferreira scored on the 22nd minute. Half-time was then approaching when Brandan Glackin scored a third goal for Celtic on the 38th minute sealing the win on the Day.

O’Gorman Cup 1st Round

MAIDEN CITY 4 - 0 WELLINGTON REC

Half-time was almost reached when Dylan Mooney scored for City on the 43rd minute. City doubled their advantage when Ryan Devine scored on the 54th minute. City sealed the win with goals scored by Ben Smith 70th and Dylan Mooney 87th minutes.

NEWTOWNE 3 - 0 DESERTMARTIN

Newtowne went in front after Daniel Boyle scored on the 37th minute then doubled their lead after Daniel scored his second goal on the 55th minute. Newtowne went three goals clear when Connor Logue scored the final goal in the game on the 65th minute.

ONE

INSPIRED COMMUNITY 3 - 5 KILLYMOON RANGERS

The Moon went two goals clear scored by Richard Donaghy and Mark McMenemy on the 14th and 17th minutes. Inspired came back to level the game with goals scored by Deberechi Okwar on the 34th and 52nd minutes. The Moon scored there more goals by Richard Donaghy 60th, Gavin Harriss 73rd and James Little 76th minutes. The last goal in the game was scored for Inspired by Mubarak Cabdi on the 93rd minute.

Pitch Waterlogged

St JAMES SWIFTS 3 - 1 GREENCASTLE ROVERS

St James went two goals in front after Victor Nana and Cristian Pelayo scored on the 7th and 11th minutes. The Rovers got a goal back after Jack Parke scored on the 33rd minute. This score remained until Caoinhin Norney score a third goal for the Swifts on the 84th minute before the Swifts had man sent off on the 89th minute.

BELFAST ATHLETIC 4 - 2 GREENISLAND DEV

Two goals scored by Martin Reilly on the 17th and 18th minute put the Athletic in an advantageous position. The Islanders got a goal back when Ben McAllister scored on the 20th minute, The Athletic got two more goals scored by Gary Reilly and Dave Finlay on the 26thand 44th minutes. The Islanders came back with Alex Haggan scoring the final goal in the game on the 85th minute.

AHOGHILL THISTLE DEV 3 - 3 HIGHTOWN ATHLETIC

Hightown went in front after Aaron McKeown scored on the 10th minute then added two more goals scored by Josh McFadden 14th and Jordan Byrne 20th minutes. Half-time saw the score remain then Hightown had a man sent off on the 69th minute. Thistle got back in the game after Gavin Knipe scored on the 70th minute and were back on level terms after Darragh Mooney scored a brace of goals on the 74th and 86th minutes.

GRANGE RANGERS 0 - 2 NORTH BELFAST UNITED

After a steady start by both teams Liam Gowdy scored for the North on the 34th minute putting them in front at half-time. The North went two goals clear after Mark Davey scored on the 48th minute which saw the North take all three points at the end of the game.

WELLINGTON REC II 1 - 3 BALLYCLARE NORTH END

The Rec went in front after Lewis Henry scored on the 38th minute. North End were back on level terms after Stephen Howe scored on the 43rd minute. No more goals were scored until Ryan Smylie scored on the 93rd and Graham McFarlane on the 95th minutes for North End who had a man sent off on the 97th minute.

GREENCASTLE ROVERS II 0 - 3 BALLYNURE OB ‘B’

This was another win for the Nure who went in front after Robert Watson scored on the 39th minute. The Nure extended their lead when Kyle Abernethy scored on the 43rd minute and sealed the win after Marc Campbell scored on the 64th minute.

NEWINGTON RANGERS 2 1 LOUGHSIDE

The Rangers went in front after Cole Magill scored on the 15th minute and held this lead at half-time. Rangers went two goals in front after Jason Hawthorne scored on the 61st minute then saw Neal Goodyear get a goal back for Loughside on the 68th minute. Loughside went all out for the equaliser, but Rangers held on for the win.

RED STAR 6 - 0 BELFAST CELTIC RES

The Star went in front after Lloyd Watters scored on the 9th minute then had a man sent off on the 18th minute. Lloyd Watters scored two more goals on the 45th and 49th minutes to complete his hat-trick. The second half saw Andrew Hall scored a hat-trick for the Star on the 69th, 72nd and 80th minutes.

North Ballymena Rangers Athletic did not fulfil Fixture.
