Saturday was a bad day with six games lost to waterlogged pitches and six Junior games lost due to no Official referees being available due to being used in the CAFA Junior Shield who have first call on Junior Referees.

The Junior Referee situation is getting worse with Referee stating they are unable to do Divisional Association games.

The time has come for the IFA to take action on referees who opt out of Junior Games but do Youth Games instead.

INTERMEDIATE

LEAGUE

GLEBE RANGERS 0 - 3 MAIDEN CITY

After a steady start by both teams the City went in front after Connor McGee scored on the 36th minute. Half-time was reached with the single goals separating the teams. City then hit Glebe twice with Dylan Mooney scoring on the 75th minute and Mokhtar Bouasria scoring on the 78th minute to secure the win.

COOKSTOWN YOUTH 2 - 3 DESERTMARTIN

Both teams were early on attack but ten first goal did not come until Kaelum Irvine scored for the Martins on the 30thminute. Half-time was almost reached when Jose Cunha scored for the Youth who then went in front after Curtis Hassan converted a penalty on the 60th minute. The Martins got back level after Eamon OG McAllister scored on the 68th minute and got the winner when James McGahan scored on the 89th minute.

WELLINGTON REC 2 - 2 NEWTOWNE

Newtowne got off to an early start taking the lead after Conor Logue scored on the 9th minute. The Rec got back into the game after James Wylie scored on the 35th minute then went in front after Christopher Guiller converted a penalty on the 39th minute to lead at half-time. The second half saw Newtowne back on level terms when Daniel Boyle scored on the 78th minute giving the teams a point each at the end.

STRABANE ATHLETIC 2 - 1 BRANTWOOD

Strabane got off to a flyer of a start being two goals ahead after the first quarter of an hour through goals scored by Simon McGlynn on the 12th and 14th minutes. Half-time was reached and the score remained in favour of the Athletic. Brantwood got back in the second half with Reece Gilmour scoring on the 55th minute but though they tried hard they failed to get an equaliser before the final whistle.

DUNLOY 2 - 2 NEWBUILDINGS UNITED

Dunloy had the best chance in the game when Conor McKinley scored on the 32nd minute putting Dunloy in front at half-time. Dunloy increased their lead again it was Conor McKinly on the mark scoring on the 49th minute. Newbuildings got back into the game after Matthew Pierce converted a penalty on the 53rd minute then Jack Bradley scored on the 68th minute to level the score. After this both teams played it safe until the final whistle.
