The big result of the day was Ballymoney United travelling and defeating Linfield Swifts in the CAFA Steel & Sons Cup. Ballymoney are joined by Belfast Celtic who beat fellow league members St James Swifts for a place in the last sixteen of the competition.

In the North West Craig Memorial Cup Newbuildings who beat Newtowne join Desertmartin in the Second Round.

In the Mid-ulster Bob Radcliffe Cup Cooktown Youth progress to the second round after a good win away to Portadown BBOB.

In the IFA Junior Cup 3rd Ballyclare OB and St James Swifts progress to the second round.

LEAGUE

BALLYNURE OB 0 - 5 MAIDEN CITY

The City went in front after Bobby Sweeney scored on the 23rd minute. Two more goals scored by Gary McFadden and Jack Millar on the 36th and 39th minutes saw City three goals clear at half-time. City went four goals clear after Kealen McDermott scored on the 69th minute and the final goal in the game was scored by Alaaeddine Duouioui on the 89th minute.

GLEBE RANGERS 1 - 1 CHIMNEY CORNER

Though chances were there to be taken no goals were scored before half-time. Glebe had a man sent off on the 48th minute then the corner went in front after Ben Killough scored on the 72nd minute. Time was then running down when Jackie Morrison scored the equaliser on the 88th minute followed by the Corner having three men sent off on the 90th, 92nd and 96th Minutes.

DONEGAL CELTIC 2 - 0 DESERTMARTIN

It was the home side who appeared to be much sharper around the goal area and was highlighted when Conall Delaney scored on the 48th minute. The Martins tried hard to get back into the game but Celtic sealed the win with James Mullan scoring their second goal on the 71st minute.

BRANTWOOD 1 - 1 DUNLOY

After a steady start by both teams Dunloy went in front after Ciaran Campbell scored on the 29th minute and this goal separated the teams at half-time. Brantwood never gave up the chase getting the equaliser when Ricky Macauley scored on the 65th minute.

WAKEHURST 5 - 1 RATHCOOLE

Rathcoole were early on the attack taking the lead after Kai Hefferson scored on the 17th minute. Half-time saw this goal still separate the teams before a brace of goal scored by Cameron Neilly on the 48th and 60th minutes saw Wakehurst in front. Wakehurst went on to scored three more goals through Andrew Laughlin 63rd, Jason Paul 70th and Leon Patton 80th minutes.

COUNTY ANTRIM STEEL & SONS CUP 3RD ROUND

BELFAST CELTIC 4 - 2 St JAMES SWFTS

The first goal in the game was scored by Rory Patterson on the 40th minute putting Celtic ahead who then went two goals in front after Anthony Nelson scored on the 52nd minute. The Swifts got a goal back after Jamie Sharvin scored on the 67th minute only to see Anthony Nelson score again on the 69th minute. The Swifts got a second goal after Callum Burns scored on the 84th minute before Rory Patterson sealed the win for Celtic on the 90th minute.

LINFIELD SWIFTS 1 - 3 BALLYMONEY UNITED

The Toon went in front after Jake Francis scored on the 23rd minute then saw they Swifts come back to equalise when Ceadach O’Neill scored on the 34th minute. Half-time was almost reached when Gerard Gillan put the Toon back in front on the 42nd minute. The Toon got the important third goal after Luke Mc Connell scored on the 59th minute which was the last goal in the game.

PSNI 2 - 1(aet) WELLINGTON REC

The Rec were unfortunate to lose the game which they took the lead in on the 6th minute after Mark Mundell scored. The Teams were back level after Matthew Hanna scored on the 46th minute for the home side. The Rec then had two men sent off on the 47th and 53rd minutes but they held on to force extra-time. The home side went in front after Michael Thompson scored in the second minute and this goal decided the result though both teams had man each sent off on the 110th minute.

NORTH WEST CRAIG MEMORIAL CUP 1st ROUND

NEWBUILDINGS UNITED 4 - 1 NEWTOWNE

The Visitors were in front after Craig McAllister scored on the 2nd minute and held this lead until Darren Robb scored for the home side on the 31st minute. Newbuildings then went in front after Jack Bradley scored on the 56th minute then sealed the win with two late goals scored by Jack Bradley and Stephen Curry on the 79th and 87th minutes.

PORTSTEWART 1 - 0 STRABANE ATHLETIC

This was a titanic struggle between two evenly matched teams with defences on top in the first-half resulting in no goals at half-time. The second half followed a similar pattern of play though both teams created a number of chances. With the game heading into extra-time Bobby-Jack McAleese popped up on the 87th minute with a goal to take the home side into the next round.

MID-ULSTER BOB RADCLIFFE CUP 2nd ROUND

PORTADOWN BBOB 1 - 4 COOKSTOWN YOUTH

The Youth took a two-goal lead in this game with goals scored by Steve Arrell on the 9th and 21st minutes. The home side got a goal back after Richard Allen scored on the 60th minute. Dave Monaghan replied to this by scoring a third for the Youth on the 64th minute. The Youth sealed the win when Steve Arrell completed his Hat-trick on the 70th minute.

JUNIOR DIVISION

ONE

BELFAST ATHLETIC 6 - 0 COOKSTOWN OLYMPIC

Gerard Johnston scored on the 13th minute putting the Athletic ahead and goals scored by Dave Finlay 27th and Gerard Johnston again on the 45th minute were three goals in front at half-time. Gerard Johnston completed his hat-trick on the 65th minute followed by goals scored by Sean Burns and Dave Finlay on the 83rd and 88th minutes. Olympic also had man sent off on the 64th minute.

KILLYMOON RANGERS 5 - 1 GREENISLAND DEVELOPMENT

The Moon went ahead after Matthew McMenemy scored on the 3rd minute and held this lead until Flynn Roscoe scored the equaliser on the 35th minute. The Moon went back in front after Stephen Shields scored on the 38th minute. The Moon went on to score three more goals through Richard Donaghy 48th, Matthew McMenemy 75th and Shane Devlin 77th minutes while the Islanders had a man sent off on the 70th minute.

RATHCOOLE RESERVES 5 - 3 INSPIRED COMMUNITY

The Community went two goals in front scored by Jordan Pires 3rd and McGerald Woha 9th minutes. Rathcoole hit back with Ian Hunter scoring a brace of goals on the 16th and 29th minutes. The Community who had man sent off on the 27th minute got back level after Jordan Pires scored his second goal on the 57th minute.
Rathcoole went on to get more goals with Ian Hunter scoring on the 73rd and 80th minutes and Harry Bassett on the 86th minute.

JUNIOR DIV TWO

AHOGHILL THISTLE DEV 1 - 5 LOUGHSIDE

Loughside were in front on the 7th minute after Chris Torrens converted a penalty kick. This goal separated the teams until an own goal on the 56th minute and Leigh McCullough scoring on the 63rd minute put the visitors three goals clear. Ahoghill got back into the game after Lewis McDonald converted a penalty on the 73rd minute but two more goals scored by Leagh McCullough to complete his hat-trick ensured Loughside the win.

GREENCASTLE ROVERS II 6 - 3 BELFAST CELTIC RESERVES

The Rovers went in front after Sean Derry scored on the 2nd minute then Conor McAnena scored for Celtic on the 6th minute. Celtic went in front after Liam Bracken scored on the 17th minute followed by Sean Derry scoring his second goal for Rovers on the 21st minute. Celtic went back in front after Conor McAnena scored his second goal on the 43rd minute. Rovers added more goals after James McLarnon scored a brace of goals on the 7th and 69th minutes followed by Taylor McLarnon scoring on the 90th and Sean McKeown 93rd minutes.

HIGHTOWN ATHLETIC 5 - 4 NORTH BELFAST UNITED

The first goal was scored by Adam Cairns putting United in front then Athletic were back level after Nathan Johnston converted a penalty on the 33rd minute. United went in front after Nathan Mullan scored on the 38th minute before Nathan Johnston converted a second penalty on the 48th minute. Athletic went in front after Aaron McKeown scored on the 53rd minute followed by an own goal that saw United back level on the 55th minute. Aaron McKeown put Athletic back in front on the 77th minute followed by Michael O’Neil equalising for United on the 92nd minute. The game was in the 99th minute when Jordan Byrne scored the winner for Athletic
