WEEK-ENDING 19th OCTOBER 2019
With all the Fourteen Intermediate Teams playing in the IFA intermediate Cup it was a mixed bag of Results with Ballymoney United, Chimney Corner, Cookstown RBL, St James Swifts and Wakehurst winning through to the next round. Unfortunately, we lost Two teams who met fellow league teams.
The Ballynahinch v Belfast Celtic game was not played due to a waterlogged pitch and will now be played on Saturday 26th putting Belfast Celtic Steel & Sons Quarter Final back to the 9th of November.
It was a similar result with Junior Teams playing the CAFA Junior Shield and Mid-Ulster Shield.
In the CAFA Junior Shield FC Whiteabbey and 3rd Ballyclare OB progressed while Castle Star and Rathcoole will play on Saturday 26th as the Beltoy pitch was under water on Saturday.
In the Mid-Ulster Shield there were wins for Killymoon Rangers, Cookstown Youth Colts and Cookstown RBL Res while Cookstown Olympic los out by the odd goal in three in their game.

Saturday 19th October
Intermediate Division
IFA intermediate Cup 1st Round
BALLYMONEY UNITED 4 1 DESERTMARTIN
Ballymoney went two goals in front scored by John Rohdich and Ryan Craig on the 30th and 38th minutes. Pierce McLarnon got a goal back for Desertmartin on the 41st minute but two more goals scored by Stuart McMullan and Trevor Parkhill on the 48th and 96th minutes sealed the win for Ballymoney.
CHIMNEY CORNER 2 1 ARMAGH CITY
The Corner went in front after Ross Clarke scored on the 20th minute then saw Armagh equalise on the 35th minute. The Corner went in front for a second time when Kyle Robinson scored on the 66th minute to win the game.
COOKSTOWN RBL 4 2 BALLYNURE OB
An own goal conceded by Ballynure saw RBL go in front then Edson Da Silva scored to make it two nil Ballynure goal a goal back when Kyle Abernethy scored, and a second goal scored by Chris McGookin saw the teams back level. RBL went in front again after Mateus Batista scored followed by a fourth scored Joao Da Silva.
COAGH UNITED 0 1 DOLLINGSTOWN
In a game that saw both keepers seldom troubled it was a goal scored on the 74th minute that won the game for Dollingstown
DUNLOY 3 4 ARDS RANGERS
Dunloy went to goals in front scored by Neil McNicholl in the first fifteen minutes. The Rangers came back to equalise then Declan McGarry scored putting Dunloy back in front only to see the Rangers scored twice before half-time. After this goal fest in the first half it was surprising to see no goals scored during the second half.
St JAMES SWIFTS 6 1 MALACHIANS
This was an emphatic win for the Swifts with goals scored by Terry McGrath Hat-trick, Ronan Hamill, Sean at Donnelly and James Heatherington to one by Malachians.
LURGAN TOWN 4 1 BRANTWOOD
The Town went ahead on the 22nd minute then Luke Watters equalised for Brantwood on the 31st minute that aw the team’s level at half-time. The Town then hit a purple patch in the second half scoring on the 53rd, 56th and 75th minutes to seal the win.
LISBURN DISTILLERY 3 1 GLEBE RANGERS
Glebe certainly had the better of play during the first half but only had a goal scored by Davy Reid on the 20th minute to show for their efforts. The second half saw Distillery have the better of the play and two goal inside the first twenty minutes of the half saw them in front. Time was then in the 90th minute when Distillery got their third goal.
DRUMANESS MILLS 1 3 WAKEHURST
Wakehurst went in front through a goal scored by Darren Kidd then saw the Mills equalise. Wakehurst went in front for a second time after the Mills conceded an own goal. Wakehurst were still in front with time running down then Jack Walsh ensured the win when scoring on the 85th minute.
COOKSTOWN YOUTH 2 3 ARDSTRAW
The Youth went in front after Adam Keane converted a penalty on the 41st minute then saw the visitors equalise on the 48th minute. The Visitors went in front on the 65th minute then Daniel McKinless scored for the Youth on the 83rd minute. The game was then in the 96th minute when Ardstraw scored a fortunate winning goal,

LOUGHSIDE 4 0 NORTH BELFAST UNITED
Loughside took an early lead after Kenny Donaldson scored on the 7th minute then added a second goal after Zach Nicholl scored on the 30th minute. Half-time was approaching when Chris Torrens scored a third goal for Loughside on the 39th minute. The North tried hard to get back into the game in the second half, but a fourth goal scored by Kenny Donaldson on the 65th minute sealed the win for Loughside Referee Mr. John McNab

ROOFTOP III 6 0 NORTH BALLYMENA RANGERS ATHLETIC
The Home side went in front after James Chandler scored on the 15th minute then added a second when Philip Kincaid scored on the 16th minute. Lawrence Smyth made it three nil on the 31st minute giving Rooftop a good cushion at the break. Michael Williams then scored a brace of goals on the 63rd and 84th minutes before Philip Kincaid scored the final goal on the 88th min Referee Mr. Sam Campbell
BELFAST CELTIC SWIFTS 3 1 RATHCOOLE RESERVES
This game was a lot closer than the score would suggest between two evenly matched teams. At the end it was goals scored by Darren Gallagher (2) and Ciaran Carson for Celtic and James Wylie for Rathcoole that decided the result. Referee Mr. Alfie O’Neill

Canada Trophy 1st Round
NORTH UNITED 2 0 GRANGE RANGERS
North drew first blood in this game when Jordan Brown scored on the 25th minute. After this both teams had a chance or two, but the single goal separated the teams at half-time. North doubled their advantage when Gary Potter scored on the 47th minute and went on to defend their lead until the final whistle.

CAFA Junior Shield 2nd Round
FC WHITEABBEY 3 1 AGAPE
No goals were scored during the first half then the visitors took the lead early in the second half. Conor Mullan equalised for Whiteabbey followed by goals scored by Sean Southam and David Finlay to progress to the next round of the competition.
3rd BALLYCLARE OB 10 0 ROCK ATHLETIC FC
Goals scored by Mathew McClurg and Adam Campbell on the 12th and 16th minutes put the Old Boys ahead. Marc Campbell then scored a brace of goals on the 26th and 42nd minutes. Jackson Crymble, Mathew McClurg and March Campbell added more goals on the 48th, 61st and 68th minutes. The Old Boys got three more goals scored by Sammy Howe, Matthew McClurg and James Hall on the 80th, 84th and 88th minutes.
RED STAR 0 4 PORTRUSH
Portrush went in a t half-time leading by a converted penalty midway through the First Half. Portrush went two goals in front on the 54th minute then a second penalty on the 65th minute saw them control the game before scoring a fourth goal near the final whistle.
ISLANDMAGEE II 2 1 St JAMES SWIFTS II
This was a very close game with the home side wining by scoring twice in answer to the goal scored by Martin McDonald for the Swifts.
CARNINY AMATEURS 3 2 WOODlANDS
Carniny went in front in this game then goals scored by Alex Haggan and Alex Scott saw Woodlands go in front. Back came Carniny to scored twice to claim the win and a place in the 3rd Round.

Mid Ulster Shield 2nd Round
ARDMORE ROVERS 2 1 COOKSTOWN OLYMPIC
The Olympic had a great chance to go in front during the fist-half but saw the home keeper make an excellent Penalty Kick save to deny them. The Olympic then went in front after Tiarnan Brennan scored on the 55th minute but goals scored by the home side on the 60th and 75th minutes won them the game.
BOURNEVIEW MILLS RES 0 0 (aet) COOKSTOWN RBL RES (RBL win 5-4 Penalties)
At the end of normal and extra-time no goals had been scored in this game resulting in penalties being taken RBL came out on top after converting Five penalties against Four by their Opponents
