Belfast Celtic with a superb away win against Crumlin Star join Ballymoney United and St James Swifts in the last eight of the Steel & Sons Cup to be played on Saturday 26th October 2019 Kick off 2.00pm.

Draw is as follows:

Larne Tech OB v St James Swifts

Newington FC v Ballymoney United

Belfast Celtic v St Luke’s

Crewe United v Linfield Swifts

In the Intermediate League Dunloy continue to set the pace and are certainly on a high at present with Nine wins and a Draw from Ten games played.

Intermediate Division

League

WAKEHURST 3 0 CHIMNEY CORNER

Wakehurst went in front after Jordan Walker scored on the 4thnminute then the game settled down with the single goal separating the teams at half-time. Wakehurst doubled their lead after Jason Paul scored on the 75th minute and sealed the win when Ryan Sands scored on the 81st Minute. Referee Mr. Kieran Coulter

DUNLOY 1 0 DONEGAL CELTIC

There was nothing between the teams during the first half with no goals scored at half-time. Celtic went down to ten man having a man sent off on the 54th minute then Dunloy went ahead after Neil McNicholl scored on the 67th minute. After this Celtic had a second man sent off on the 84th minute with Dunloy holding out to win.

GLEBE RANGERS 6 1 BRANTWOOD

Brantwood took an early lead after Christopher scored on the 3rd minute then and own goal conceded by Brantwood on the 29th minute saw the teams back level. Davy Reid then scored on the 45th minute putting Glebe in front then saw Sam Shaw score for Glebe on the 48th minute. Daniel Brown converted a brace of penalties for Glebe on the 69th and 80th minute followed by Davy Reid scoring his second goal on the 85th minute.

DESERTMARTIN 0 5 BALLYMONEY UNITED

Two goals scored by Ciaran Clarke and Jordan Craig on the 10th and 17th minutes Saw Ballymoney two goals clear at half-time. Ciaran Clarke scored his second goal in the game on the 47th minute then goals scored by Josh Rohdich and Hugh Og Boyle on the 65th and 76th minutes completed the scoring.

COOKSTOWN RBL 6 1 BALLYNURE OB

RBL started off strongly with Joao Silva scoring a hat-trick on the 21st 35th and 39th minutes. Ballynure got back into the game after Cameron Macauley scored on the 48th minute but a fourth goal scored by Joao Silva put RBL two goals clear. RBL went on to score two more goal through Jon Ferguson on the 81st minute and Clayton Felicio converting a penalty on the 90th minute. Referee Mr. Jerome McElroy

St JAMES SWIFTS 4 1 COOKSTOWN YOUTH

The Swifts went in front after Stephen O’Neil scored on the 7th minute and then saw Daniel McKinless equalise for the Youth on the16th minute. Half-time saw the teams still level then goals scored by Terry McGrath 64th minute, Stephen O’Neil 65th minute and Eugene Gallagher 75th minute completed the scoring.

CAFA Steel & Sons Cup 4th Round

CRUMLIN STAR 1 3 BELFAST CELTIC

Celtic were on the attack early in this game taking the lead after Kevin Lynch scored who then made it two nil for Celtic inside the first-half-hour. Things then got better for Celtic when Gary Warwick scored a third goal. Star were finding it hard against a well organised Celtic team though they pulled a goal back on the 43rd minute.

The second half saw Celtic play it tight and deny the Star any space around goals and winning by two goals at the end.

Division One

FC WHITEABBEY 2 0 ANTRIM ROVERS

After a steady start by both teams Sean Cowler scored putting Whiteabbey ahead on the 30th minute. Half-time saw this goal still separate the teams and this remained until David Finlay scored a second goal for Whiteabbey on the 83rd minute. Referee Mr. Paul Aston

COOKSTOWN OLYMPIC v BALLYNURE OB

This game was stopped on the 5th minute after the Olympic keeper suffered a serious leg injury and with the delay in an Ambulance arriving the teams decided to call it a day.

Division Two

BRANTWOOD RESERVES 1 3 3rd BALLYCLARE OB

Nothing much separated the teams during the first half except the goal scored by Sebastian Manea for the Old Boys on the 43rd minute. Brantwood got back level after Matthew Armstrong scored on the 54th minute then goals scored by Sebastian Manea and John Davey on the 72nd and 82nd minute won the points for the Old Boys.

NORTH UNITED 4 4 BALLYCLARE NORTH END

North took an early lead after Ryan Simms scored on the 2nd minute then Aaron Gilmore put North End level from the penalty spot on the 9th minute. North went back in front after Jordan Brown scored on the 14th minute then James Reid scored for North End on the 19th minute. North went two goals ahead with goals scored by Scott Martin and Ryan Simms on the 35th and 37th minutes. Back came North End to draw with goals scored by James Reid 61st and Robert Bonnes on the 82nd minutes. Referee Mr. Kenny Hayton

CARRICK ATHLETIC 3 6 COOKSTOWN YOUTHCOLTS

The Colts went in front after Caleb Robb scored on the 7th minute then a brace of goals scored by Nathan Long on the 13th and 14th minutes put Carrick ahead. The Colts then went ahead with a brace of goals score Gavin Harris on the 26th and 29th minutes and Kyle McMullan on the 29th minute. Carrick got a goal back after Matthew Neill scored on the 54th minute but the Colts replied with two more goals scored by Gavin Harris and Drew Kelly on the 55th and 71st minutes. St JAMES SWIFTS III 12 1 LOUGHSIDE

Goals scored by Padraig McCormick and Ciaran Hyland on the 10th and 14th minutes saw the Swifts two goals clear. Kenney Donaldson pulled a goal back for Loughside on the 15th minute. The Swifts went on to score four more goals before half-time through Padraig McCormick 21st, Greg Creaney 24th, Calum McVeigh 31st and Aidan Toner 43rd minutes. The Swifts scored another Six goals in the second half through Daniel McShane 47th, Padraig McCormick 56th, 70th and 79th, Frances Green 65th and Aidan Toner 78th minutes.

NORTH B’MENA RANGERS ATH 3 1 NEWINGTON RANGERS

This was the duel of the Rangers on Saturday with Ballymena coming on top of the Rangers from Larne. The Ballymena Goals were scored by Joel Barr on the 25th minute followed by two goals scored by Ryan McMullan a penalty on the 43rd Minute followed by his second on the 60th minute. The Newington goal scorer was James Wright. Referee Mr. Alfie O’Neill

MALLUSK ATHLETIC 3 5 BELFAST CELTIC SWIFTS

This was high scoring game with eight goals being scored. On the mark were Darren Geddis, Gavin Knipe and Karl Campbell for Mallusk and Sasha Canning (2) and Ciaran Carson (3) for Celtic.

ROOFTOP III 0 4 St MALACHYS OB

Goals scored by Ryan Davidson on the 11th and 16th minutes saw St Malachys in front then a goal scored by Matthew Watson on the 36th minute strengthened their position at half-time. The second half saw Rooftop try hard to get back into the game, but a Fourth goal scored by Matthew Selfridge on the 70th minute sealed the win for St Malachys. Referee Mr. Brian Leitch

RED STAR 2 3 COOKSTOWN RBL RES

RBL went in front after Gareth Ramsey scored on the 21st minute then a brace of goals scored by Ricky Johnson on the 54th and 57th minute saw Red Star in front. Matthew Kelly equalised for RBL on the 69th minute then a penalty converted by Gareth Ramsey on the 82nd minute won the game for RBL

GRANGE RANGERS 1 6 RATHCOOLE RESERVES

A hat-trick from Ken McCartney on the 24th, 29th and 35th minutes and a goal scored by Nathan Ormsby on the 43rd minute saw Rathcoole in strong position at half-time. Two more goals for Rathcoole scored by Reece McCarey and Nathan Ormsby on the 77th and 78th minutes sealed the win though Matthew Forsythe got a goal back for Grange on the 85th minute. Canada Trophy 1st Round

68th NEWTOWNABBEY OB 0 6 GREENISLAND III

Goals scored by Jakub Woloszyn and Adam White on the 13th and 14th minutes saw the home side two up. Adam McCauley made it three nil on the 26th minute and this score remained at half-time. Ryan Burke scored a fourth for Greenisland on the 74th minute followed by a penalty converted by Graham Glendinning on the 84th minute and his second goal in stoppage time. Referee Mr. Russell Wilson

RATHCOOLE 2 0 WINDMILL STARS RESERVES

Rathcoole went in front after Dave Moore scored on the 30tth minute and held this lead at half-time. Rathcoole then got a second goal scored by Beau Doyle on the 62nd minute that sealed the win.

WOODVALE II 1 5 KILLYMOON RANGERS

Killymoon led by goals scored by Mark O Neill and Richard Donaghy at half time. Chris McNicholl made it three nil before the home side pulled a goal back. Killymoon scored two more goals through Richard Donaghy and Nathan Coyle for a clear win.

BELFAST CELTIC YM 5 1 WOODLANDS

The was a bad day at the office for Woodlands who conceded five goal with a goal scored by Michael Seymour their only reply.
