BALLYMENA and PROVINCIAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE MATCH REPORTS Season 2019-20 WEEK-ENDING 14th SEPTEMBER 2019

Three Junior League games were lost on Saturday due to shortage of Referees available. With the introduction of the Comet System Referees Teams must post their line-ups and confirm their panels of players and officials on the System prior to the game. With the shortage of Official Referees this has led to games not being played when there Is nobody present who is conversant with the Comet System.

The Comet System works well enough, but it is the Chronic shortage of Junior Referees that is causing the Problems across all Leagues

On the playing front Dunloy moved to the top of the Intermediate Division with a win over Chimney Corner

In the CAFA Steel and Sons Cup there were wins for St James Swifts, Belfast Celtic and Ballymoney United who beat Glebe Rangers in the “Toon Derby” while in the other game both Wakehurst and Ballynure OB lost out away from home.

In the Mid-Ulster Bob Radcliffe Cup Coagh United defeated Cookstown Youth while Cookstown RBL won in extra-time at Richill.

In the North West Craig Memorial Cup Desertmartin had a good way win over Trojans by the odd goal in Five.

In the Junior Cup there were wins for St James Swifts II, Woodlands, Killymoon Rangers and Rathcoole
