With the evenings dropping and the mid-week games over teams were in concentration for Saturday which also saw the Junior teams start of their campaign for another season.
In the Intermediate Division Coagh sit proudly at the top of the table with Five wins and a draw from the first Six games. Wakehurst gave St James Swifts a shock at Ballymena Showgrounds recording their third league win on the trot. Belfast Celtic also got back into winning ways defeating Ballymoney United who had won the last two games at the Riada Stadium.

Saturday 7th September League Games
Intermediate Division
WAKEHURST 3-1 JAMES SWIFTS
The Swifts went in front after Gary Dorian scored on the 3rd minute then saw Jason Paul equalise for Wakehurst on the 8th minute. Jason Paul with his second goal put Wakehurst in front on the 17th minute and this score remained until Jamie Willigan scored for Wakehurst on the 88th minute.

COAGH UNITED 5-2 - CHIMNEY CORNER
The Corner took an early two goal lead after Tom Patchett scored on the 6th and 10th minutes. Coagh got back level after Eoghan Hawe and Stefan Thompson scored on the 25th and 27th minutes. Coagh went in front with a brace of goals scored by James Ferguson on the 66th and 77th minute before Stefan Thompson completed the scoring on the 79th minute.

DONEGAL CELTIC 0-2 -GLEBE RANGERS
After a steady start by both team Robert Donnell put Glebe in front on the 37th minute then on the 42nd minute Daniel Brown converted a penalty for Glebe that sealed the win. Referee Mr. Iain Banks
BALLYNURE OB 1-5 COOKSTOWN YOUTH
The Youth went in front when James Leslie scored on the 25th minute then David Higgins converted a penalty for Ballynure. The Youth went in front for a second time when Danny McElhatton scored on the 44th minute. Stevie Arrell converted a penalty for the Youth on the 47th minute and completed his hat-trick with goals scored on the 81st and 87th minutes to complete the scoring.

DESERTMARTIN 0-6 BRANTWOOD
Brantwood led at half-time through goals scored by Ryan McAuley and Ricky MacAuley on the 25th and 33rd minutes. Jack Rainey made it three nil on the 65th minute followed by Curtis Dempster with goals on the 80th and 82nd minutes and Sam Morgan on the 90th minute.

BALLYMONEY UNITED 2-6 BELFAST CELTIC
Goals from Darren Stuart and Matthew Donnelly on the 12th and 21st minutes put Celtic in front before Nicholas Kerr scored for Ballymoney on the 24th minute. Matthew Donnelly scored his second goal on the 44th minute before Trevor Parkhill converted a penalty for Ballymoney on the 48th minute. Celtic then went on to score three more goals through Kevin Lynch, Steven Tully and Gary Warwick.

Junior Division One
BALLYNURE OB ‘B’ 0 6 RATHCOOLE
A brace of penalties converted by Dave Moore and James Wylie on the 14th and 18th minutes saw Rathcoole two goals in front. Aaron Lindsay scored number three on the 41st minute followed by Dave Moore completing his hat-trick on the 44th and 67th minute and Warren Brown scoring on the 75th minute.

CASTLE STAR 1 1 KILLYMOON RANGERS
Killymoon went in front after Richard Donaghy scored on the 30th minute then Castle got back level after Taylor Thompson scored on the 38th minute. Both teams had chances to score after this, but no more goals came.

COOKSTOWN OLYMPIC 5 6 WOODLANDS
This was certainly a high scoring game which saw Matty Hughes put the Olympic in front on the 6th minute then Alex Hagan equalised on the 9th minute. Matty Hughes put the Olympic back in front on the 22nd minute before Simon Scott equalised for Woodlands on the 28th minute. Alex Hagan then scored a brace to complete his hat-trick on the 32nd and 34th minutes. The Olympic got back level after James McGahan score on the 47th and 57th minutes. Aidan Kearney put the Olympic in front again on the 69th minute then Alex Hagan with his fourth goal equalised on the 73rd minute. Time was then running down when Neil McConnell converted a penalty to win the game for Woodlands on the 85th minute. Referee Mr. Gary Thompson
St JAMES SWIFTS II 5 0 FC WHITEABBEY
Mark McDonald scored on the 18th minute putting the Swifts ahead and this scored remained at half-time. Ciaran Hyland made it two nil on the 48th minute before Martin McDonald scored a brace of goals on the 70th and 75th minutes. Time was then running down when Ciaran Hyland scored the final goal on the 85th minute.

Junior Division Two
BRANTWOOD RESERVES 2 0 COOKSTOWN YOUTH COLTS
Brantwood had the best of the opportunities to score in the game and a brace of goals scored by Gareth McCauley on the 35th and52nd minutes ensured them of the win.

LOUGHSIDE 1 0 68th NEWTOWNABBEY OB
This was a closely contested game for the entire ninety minutes and at the end it was a solitary goal scored by Blair Hunter that decided the result in favour of Loughside. Referee Mr. Bert Purdy
BALLYCLARE NORTH END 4 3 CARRICK ATHLETIC
The teams shared Seven goals but on chances created there could have been more goals. On the scoresheet the goals were scored by James Reid, Liam Gale and Sam McGookin (2) for North End and Ryan Clawson, Dave White and an Own Goal for the Athletic. Referee Mr. James Haselett
NORTH BELFAST UNITED 2 0 St JAMES SWIFTS III
The North went into the lead after Jason Bannon scored on the 37th minute and this scored remained until Gerard Patterson sealed the win for the North on the 82nd minute.

Junior Division Three
BELFAST CELTIC SWIFTS 13 0 NORTH BALLYMENA RANGERS ATHLETIC
This was a hard introduction to the Rangers who went behind on the 1st minute when Patrick Kelly scored for the Swifts. Seven more goals followed scored by Ciaran McKissock, Pat Kelly, Sean McIlhatton, Darren Munster, John McNaughton and Ciaran Carson (2). The Swifts scored another Six goals in the second half through Pat Kelly, James Lindsay, Ciaran McKissock, Ciaran Carson (2) and Darren Munster.

NEWINGTON RANGERS 2 2 MALLUSK ATHLETIC
A point each at the end was probably a fair result to both teams. John Martin put Mallusk in front on the 25th minute then Jamie Wright equalised for the Rangers on the 42nd minute. An Own goal on the 70th minute saw the Rangers in front then on the 82nd minute Gavin Knipe scored the equaliser for Mallusk.

COOKSTOWN RBL RES 7 1 ROOFTOP III
RBL took a Three nil lead with goals scored by Nathan Bartley 34th, Clayton Felicio 44th and Julio Ramos 49th minutes. Philip Kincaid got a goal back for Rooftop on the 53rd minute but four more goals scored Joao Da Silva 66th, Jon Ferguson 68th and Clayton Felicio 80th and 85th minutes completed the scoring.

RATHCOOLE RESERVES 2 2 St MALACHYS OB
St Malachys making their debut in the league went two goals scored by Declan McDaid and Ryan Davidson in front of Rathcoole. As half-time was approaching Taylor Blair pulled a goal back for Rathcoole. The second half saw Rathcoole get the equaliser when Ken McCartney scored giving the teams a point each at the final whistle.

GREENSILAND III 3 2 GRANGE RANGERS
Grange went in front after Matty Forsythe scored on the 23rd minute then Sam McIntyre equalised for Greenisland on the 49th minute. Matty Forsythe put Grange back in front on the 63rd minute then goals scored by Allan Kerby and Graham Glendinning on the 74th and 89th minutes won the points for Greenisland.

CAFA Junior Shield 1st Round
CROSSCOLLYER YM 1 2 RED STAR (After Extra Time)
Red Star led by a goal scored by Stuart Mulligan at half-time. Crosscollyer came back to equalise on the 55th minute and this saw the game go to extra-time. Red Star got the all-important winner when Ricky Thompson scored the third goal in the game.
