Four Intermediate Teams Chimney Corner, Wakehurst, Ballymoney United and Donegal Celtic progress to the 3rd Round of the IFA Intermediate Cup. Chimney Corner were in front in their game but the other three teams had to come from behind to win their games. Yes, there were celebrations at Allen Park when the Corner defeated the Current PIL League leaders on Penalties.

Ballymoney United are competing in the Irish Cup this coming Saturday and a win will see them join the Senior Clubs in the 5th Round Draw

INTERMEDIATE

LEAGUE

BELFAST CELTIC 2 1 GLEBE RANGERS

Celtic got off to a good start when Darren Murray scored on the 2nd minute this being followed by a second goal scored by Brendan Glackin on the 19th minute. Glebe got a goal back o the 22nd minute when Keeper Glenn McMullan scored for his own penalty box with the ball deceiving the Celtic Keeper on its way into the net. No more goals were scored after this then Celtic had a man sent off on the 90th minute.

BALLYNURE OB 4 1 DESERTMARTIN

Ballynure went in front after Alexander Crawford scored on the 22nd minute then Mark Leckey made it two nil on the 29th minute. The Martins got a goal back after Michael Stewart converted a penalty on the 43rd minute. Ballynure got two more goal with Alexander Crawford completing his hat-trick with goals on the 62nd and 91st minutes Referee Mr Keith Furlonger.

St JAMES SWIFTS 3 0 DUNLOY

St James went in front after Ciaran Rooney scored on the 12th minute then doubled their advantage when John Savage cored on the 32nd minute. Time was almost up when Eugene Gallagher scored number three for the Swifts on the 92nd minute. Referee Mr Andrew Davey

CHIMNEY CORNER 2 2 (aet) BALLYMACASH RANGERS

Chimney Corner win 4-2 on Penalties

The Corner were up against the PIL League leaders and were level at nil each at half time. The Corner went in front after Ryan Worthington scored on the 61st minute and held this lead until the visitors equalised on the 91st minute. The Rangers went in front on the 97th minute then on the 108th minute Reece Gilmour converted a penalty for the Corner taking the game to penalties. The Corner keeper Nathan Kerr saved two of the Rangers penalties leaving the Corner who scored four though to the next Round.

PORTSTEWART 2 1 COAGH UNITED

Portstewart went in front after Glenn Law scored on the 19th minute to lead at half-time. Coagh got back level after Aaron Campbells scored on the 53rd minute. Coagh then had a an sent off on the 71st minute and this cost them dear with Jonathan Hayes scoring the winner for the Ports on the 84th minute.

18th NEWTOWNABBEY OB 1 2 DONEGAL CELTIC

In front of a large crowd the home side went in front after Corey Houston scored on the 50th minute. Celtic were back level after and own goal on the 53rd minute setting the tie up for a tight finish. Celtic got what proved to be the winning goal when James Mullan scored on the 70th minute.

WELLINGTON REC 1 4 RATHFRILAND RANGERS

The Rangers last season winners went in front after Ruari Fitzpatrick scored on the 17th mute then doubled their lead when Andy Wilson scored on the 21st minute. Two more goal scored by Johneen Black Penalty on 67th minute and Jordan Hayes 84th minute saw the visitors in control though the Rec never gave up pulling a goal back when Jonathan McManus scored on the 90th minute.

WAKEHURST 7 2 LAURELVALE

The Vale got off to a quick start with Brendan McMullan scoring on the 6th minute then getting a second goal after Mark Whitten converted a penalty on the13th minute. Wakehurst got a goal back after Andrew Laughlin scored on the 18th minute followed by Glenn Vance scoring on the 30th minute. Andrew Laughlin scored his second goal on the 50th minute followed by Glenn Vance completing his hat-trick with goal on the 67th and 80th minutes. Wakehurst went on to score two more goals through Matthew Carroll 85th and Darren Kidd on the 90th minutes.

BRANTWOOD 1 2 (aet) BANDBRIGE TOWN

An own goal conceded by the Town on the 39th minute saw Brantwood take the lead. The Town came back to level the game after Conor Downey scored on the 74th minute. No more goals were scored in normal time then on the 105th minute Stephen McCavitt scored the winner for the Town.

DOWNSHIRE 2 5 BALLYMONEY UNITED

The home side went clear after James Dillon scored on the 5th minute. Mark Dempsey then equalised for Ballymoney on the 21st minutes. Luke Taylor put Ballymoney ahead on the 31st minute followed by Gerald Gillen scoring on the 36th minute and Lewis Magee on the 53rd minute. As time was running down Nathan Doak converted a penalty for the home side on the 84th minute only to see Josh Rohdich scored number five for Ballymoney on the 85th minute.

DIV ONE

COOKSTOWN OLYMPIC 3 5 BELFAST ATHLETIC

Two goals scored by Niall Coyle on the 6th and 22nd minutes saw the home side clear. The Athletic got a goal back after Sean Burns scored on the 45th minute and were back level after Sean Burns scored his second goal on the 49th minute. The Olympic went back in front after Conor O’Hara scored on the 59th minute then a penalty converted by Sean Bourns on the 64th minutes saw the teams back level. Aidan Quinn scored on the 75th minute putting the Athletic back in front. Two goals scored by Martin Bradley and Gerard Johnston on the 78th and 84th minutes completed the scoring. GREENCASTLE ROVERS 3 4 RATHCOOLE

Rathcoole went three goals in front a scored by Adam Doyle 20th, Matthew Doyle 35th and Ryan Wright 52nd minutes. Greencastle came back with goals scored by Chris Begley 60th, Ryan McClory 66th and Oran Johnston 77th minutes. The game was then in stoppage time when the home side conceded an own goal on the 92nd minute. Referee Mr Paul Cairns

KILLYMOON RANGERS 4 2 ANTRIM ROVERS

The Rangers went in front after James little scored on the 17th minute. The Rovers got back level after Dean Wright scored on the 21st minute. The Rangers went in front again after Luke Patterson scored on the 61st minute and added to this when Eoin Gallagher scored on the 68th minute. The Rovers got back level after Emmett Murray scored on the 78th minute then with the game in added time Eoin Gallaghers scored the winner for the Rangers on the 93rd minute. Referee Mr Colin Rainey

St JAMES SWIFTS RES 1 0 WOODLANDS

This was a keenly contested game with the surprise only one goal being scored by Martin McDonald on the 45th minute that won the points for the Swifts. Referee Mr Alan McWhirter

DIV TWO

BALLYCLARE NORTH END 2 4 3rd BALLYCLARE OB

North End went in front after Samuel McGookin scored on the 20th minute then James Cowan equalised for the Old Boys on the 44th minute. North End went back in front after Glen Bell scored on the 48th minute. Two goals scored by James Cowan on the 49th and 59th minute to complete his hat-trick before he scored a fourth on the 81st minute secured the points for the Old Boys. Referee Mr Trevor Higgins

DESERTMARTIN SWIFTS 0 4 GREENCSTLE ROVERS II

The Rovers went in front after Sean Derry scored on the 30th minute followed by a second scored by Ryan Cleary on the 35th minute divided the teams at half-time. Ryan Cleary went on to complete his hat-trick on the 67th and 70th minutes to seal the win. Referee Mr Paul Lecky

RATHCOOLE RES 3 1 BALLYNUREOB ‘B’

Rathcoole went two goals in front scored by Taylor Marks 7th minute and Harry Bassett 31st minute. Ballynure hit back with Jake Smith scoring on the 75th minute. The game was then in added time when Joel Gower scored a third goal for the home team on the 92nd minute. Referee Mr Paul Aston

RED STAR 1 2 LOUGHSIDE

Loughside went in front after Leigh McCullough scored on the 11th minute then added a second goal when Christopher Torrens scored on the 24th minute and held this advantage at half-time. The Star got a goal back after Lloyd Watters scored on the 75th minute but try as they did could not get the elusive equaliser.

GRANGE RANGERS 8 1 SOUTHSIDE

Southside went in front after Krzysztof Zalewski scored on the 8th minute. Grange hit back with Nathan Simmons scoring on the 21st minute followed by Paul Martin scoring on the 32nd minute. Grange extended their lead after Darren Hamilton scored a hat-trick on the 34th 40th and 48th minutes. Dylan Rea scored on the 51st minute followed by Darren Hamilton on the 61st and Paul Martin on the 62nd minutes. The Southside cause was not helped when they had a man sent off on the 65th minute.

ANTRIM ROVERS RES 3 4 NEWINGTON RANGERS

The Rovers went in front after Jonny Rogers scored on the 13th minute then saw Lindsay Carroll equalise for the Rangers on the 32nd minute. Jonny Rogers put the Rovers ahead again on the 38th minute followed by Reuben Millar scoring on the 44th minute. The Rangers got back into the game after Lindsay Carroll scored on the 49th minute then followed with goals scored on the 59th and 86th minutes to win the game for the Rangers.
