Saturday turned out to be a good day for getting Fixtures played with only one game being off due to the heavy rain in Belfast prior to kick off.

Saturday is another important day when three teams from the league are competing in the last Sixteen in the IFA Intermediate Cup 4th Round.

Unfortunately, we will lose one team as Dunloy host Strabane Athletic while Newbuidlings United travel to Ballymena United Reserves so hopefully we will have two teams in the Quarter Finals.

INTERMEDIATE

LEAGUE

GROUP A

NEWTOWNE 2 - 0 DESERTMARTIN

Newtowne took an early lead after Connor Logue scored on the 8th minute. Newtowne went on to double their lead when Daniel Boyle scored on the 33rd minute to lead two nil at the break. Desertmartin had man sent off on the 63rd minute and the Two nil score remained until the final whistle.

GROUP B

WAKEHURST 0 - 3 STRABANE ATHLETIC

The Athletic went in front after Conal Crawford scored on the 13th minute then doubled their lead after Simon McGlynn scored on the 30th minute. Wakehurst had a couple of golden chances to score but unlike their opposition failed to take them. The Athletic went three in front after Simon McGlynn scored his second goal on the 65thminute to seal the win leaving Wakehurst to look back at their missed chances against a well organised Athletic Team.

NEWBUILDINGS UNITED 3 - 2 RATHCOOLE

The buildings went in front after Jack Magee scored on the 20th minute then were two in front after an own goal from Rathcoole on the 30th minute. Rathcoole soon hit back, and a brace of goals scored by Philip Maybin on the 35th and 37th minute saw the teams back on level, terms. Play progressed into stoppage time when Jack McClelland hit home the winning goal for the buildings on the 92nd minute.

GROUP One

MAIDEN CITY 3 - 1 BELFAST CELTIC

The city went in front after Stephen Duffy scored on the 12th minute and held this lead until Niall Dixon scored for Celtic on the 51st minute. City went in front again after Ben Smith scored on the 61st minute and at this time Celtic had man sent off. City continued to lead the score and sealed the win after Ben Smith scored his second goal on the 85th minute.

GROUP Two

BRANTWOOD 0 - 2 GLEBE RANGERS

Glebe went in front after Harry Kirkpatrick scored on the 3rd minute and he followed this with his second goal scored on the 17th minute. Half-time saw Glebe still two goals in front which remained until the final whistle.

DONEGAL CELTIC P - P COOKSTOWN YOUTH

A deluge of rain caused the referee to call this game off before it even got started.

GROUP Four

BALLYMONEY UNITED 1 - 0 DUNLOY

Both teams had a chance or two to score in this game but none of the chances were taken in normal time. The result was then decided on a goal scored by Luke McConnell on the 92nd minute giving the win to Ballymoney.

JUNIOR DIVISIONS

ONE

DESERTMARTIN SWIFTS 1 - 3 KILLYMOON RANGERS

The Moon went in front through an own goal conceded on the 22nd minute then were two up after Mark McMenemy scored on the 26th minute. The Martin got a gal back after scored on the 67th minute then a third goal scored by Richard Donaghey on the 76th minute sealed the win for the Moon.

INSPIRED COMMUNITY 1 - 1 GREENISLAND DEV

An own goal on the 10th minute saw Inspired in front this goal separating the teams until Nathan Henry scored for the Islanders on the 42nd minute. The second half saw both teams have a few chances to score but at the end it was a point to each.

COOKSTOWN OLYMPIC 2 - 2 St JAMES SWIFTS RES

The Olympic went in front after Matthew Mullen scored on the 31st minute then doubled their advantage when Aiden Doyle scored on the 44th minute. The Swifts got back in the game after Mark McDonald scored on the 49th minute. The Swifts Assistant Coach was dismissed from the line by the Referee on the 61st minute and was dismisses for a second time before and after the final whistle. Swifts did get a second goal scored by Caoinhin Norney on the 84th minute.

TWO

BALLYNURE OB ‘B’ 2 - 1 GREENCASTLE ROVERS II

Ballynure went in front after Thomas Robinson scored on the 27th minute then on half-time Mark Tutin equalised for the Rovers. The Rovers had a man sent off on the 51st minute before Ballynure went in front for a second time when Michael Duff scored on the 73rd minute to seal the win.

LOUGHSIDE 2 - 1 NEWINGTON RANGERS

It was the late late show in this game with goals being scored. Chris Torrens scored on the 76th minute putting Loughside in front followed by Gareth Mullen equalising for Rangers on the 87th minute. Play was then in stoppage time when Jordan Carruthers scored the winning goal for Loughside on the 91st minute.

BALLYCLARE NORTH END 2 - 3 RED STAR

The Star went in front after Stephen Playfair scored on the 25th minute and held this lead at half-time. The Star went two goals ahead after Lloyd Watters scored on the 58th minute. Curtis Norrell got a goal back for North End on the 60th minute. Time was almost up when Lloyd Watters scored his second goal on the 88th minute followed by Steven Howe scoring for North End on the 91st minute.

NORTH BALLYMENA RGS 4 -2 GRANGE RANGERS

The North went in front after Colin Lewis scored on the 4th minute followed by a penalty converted by Darren Cummings 18th minute. Darren Elliott scored on the 37th for North to lead three nil at half-time. Grange got a goal back after Thomas Wright scored on the 50th minute and a second goal scored by Craig Boston on the 87th minute. The final goal in the game was scored by Colin Lewis for the North on the 95th minute.

BELFAST CELTIC RES 5 - 3 AHOGHILL THISTLE DEV

Celtic went three goals ahead scored by Martin McCann 31st, Mark Ryan 48th and Chris McDonald 55th minutes. Thistle replied with Matthew Logan scoring on the 66th minute followed by Sean O’Halloran scoring for Celtic on the 69th minute. Thistle got a second goal scored by Matthew Logan on the 72nd minute followed by Sean O’Halloran scoring on the 81st minute. The Final goal in the game was scored by Gary Tennant for Thistle on the 86th minute.

WELLINGTON REC II 2 - 1 NORTH BELFAST UNITED

Wellington took a two-goal lead in the game with goals cored by Christopher Guiller on the 43rd and 53rd minutes. No more goals were scored until Nathan Mullan scored for United on the 86th minute. Full time was reached with Wellington still a goal ahead.

HIGHTOWN ATLHETIC 0 - 2 DONEGAL CELTIC RES

A goal scored by Padraig McKissock on the 37th minute saw Celtic in front at half-time. Celtic got a second goal on the 60th minute scored by Ryan Steele to seal the win on the day.
