Strabane Athletic and Newbuildings United both lost their Quarter Finals of the IFA Intermediate Cup to Two of the top teams in the NIFL Premier Intermediate League.

On the domestic front cup games across all competitions are now in full swing with the Finals scheduled to be played during the Month of May.

Group A

MAIDEN CITY 5 - 1 WELLINGTON REC

City went in front after David O’Brien scored on the 22nd minute Kieran O’Boyle equalised for the Rec on the 29th minute. David O’Brien completed his hat-trick scoring on the 40th and 51st minutes. City got two more goals scored by Aaron McGurk and Dylan Mooney on the 83rd and 93rd minutes.

BRANTWOOD 0 - 7 St JAMES SWIFTS

An OG on the 3rd minute saw the Swifts ahead this being followed by six more goals scored by Eugene Gallagher 15th, 35th, and 51st Minute plus an OG on the 49th and Sean Donnelly scoring on the 67th minute.

DUNLOY 0 - 1 BELFAST CELTIC

There was little to choose between the team at the final whistle other than the goal scored by Sean Hawkins that saw Celtic take all three points from the Game. Referee Mr Kyle Barr

DONEGAL CELTIC 3 - 0 RATHCOOLE

Celtic went in front after Kevin Farrelly scored on the 17th minute to lead at half-time. Rathcoole had a man sent off on the 63rd minute then Celtic got a second goal scored by William McCracken on the 68th minute. Celtic sealed the win after Ryan McAuley scored on the 78th minute.

CHIMNEY CORNER 1 - 3 BALLYMONEY UNITED

The Corner went in front after Leon Carley scored on the 12th minute then saw Gerald Gillan equalise on the 24th minute. The United went in front after Ciaran McLaughlin scored on the 42nd minute and sealed the win when Paul Keane scored on the 70th minute.

COOKSTOWN YOUTH 3 - 2 GLEBE RANGERS

The Youth scored two early goals with Curtis Hassan on the 4th minute and Jordan Young on the 6th minutes. Glebe got back into the game after Joshua Elliott scored on the 15th minute and were back level after Sam Watson scored on the 54th minute. Time was beginning to run down when Caleb Robb scored what proved to be the winning goal for the Youth on the 76th minute.

IFA Intermediate Cup Quarterfinals.

NEWBUILDINGS UNITED 0 - 3 QUEENS

An own goal conceded by the Newbuildings saw Queens in front at half-time. Queens then got a second goal after Matthew Hughes scored on the 50th minute. Newbuildings were chasing the game when Queens sealed the win after Leon Bonnes scored on the 73rd minute.

BALLYMACASH RANGERS 5 - 2 STRABANE ATHLETIC

An own goal conceded by Strabane saw the home side in front on the 18th minute. Strabane got back level after Aaron O’Hagan scored on the 46th minute then two quick goals scored by Jordan Morrison and Benny Igiehon on the 50th and 53rd minutes saw the Rangers back in front. Strabane got a second goal scored by Gary Merritt on the 68th minute but two more goals scored by Michael Moore and Benny Igiehon on the 76th and 79th minutes completed the scoring.

TWO

WELLINGTON REC II 1 - 6 BALLYNURE OB ‘B’

The Nure went six goals clear in the first thirty-eight minutes with goals scored by Marc Campbell 12th, 24th pk, 38th, Thomas Robinson 16th, Peter Wilson 21st and 33rd minutes. The only goal scored in the second half was by Jude Aitcheson on the 86th minute for the Rec.

DONEGAL CELTIC RES 7 - 0 NORTH BELFAST UNITED

This was certainly good day for the Celtic Player Darren Gallagher who scored six goals on the 15th, 20th, 24th, 51st, 72nd and 78th minute with Aaron Hughes scoring the other goal on the 47th minute.

BELFAST CELTIC RES 2 - 2 GREENCASTLE ROVERS II

Celtic went in front after Ryan Walker scored on the 24th minute then Sean Derry equalised to the Rovers on the 27th minute. Celtic went back in front after Damien Maguire scored on the 38th minute followed by Cormac Morrison equalising for Rovers on the 41st minute.

Canada Trophy 1st Round

RATHCOOLE RESERVES 1 - 0 INSPIRED COMMUNITY

In a very closely contested game the only goal scored was by Mark Lee Jeffers on the 33rd minute which won the game. One Black mark was Rathcoole having a man sent off on the 68th minute.

GRANGE RANGERS 2 3 3rd BALLYCLARE OB

This was a local derby between the two close neighbours. The first goal was scored by Joel O’Neil on the 42nd minute putting the Old Boys in front. Jake Woods replied for Grange on the 55th minute followed by Ryan Henry scoring for the Old Bys on the 73rd minute. Grange hit back with Jack Ferguson scoring on the 88th minute only to see Darren Hamilton scoring the winner for the Old Boys on the 91st minute.

COOKSTOWN OLYMPIC 1 - 0 NEWINGTON RANGERS

There was nothing to choose between the teams until the Rangers had a man sent off on the 33rd minute. With the extra man the Olympic made the breakthrough when Connor Donnelly scored on the 50th minute and progress to the next round.

Canada Trophy 2nd Round

HIGHTOWN ATHLETIC 0 - 5 St JAMES SWIFTS Res

The Swifts went in front after Paul Moore scored on the 25th minute but had to wait until an OG on the 71st minutes putting the Swifts two goals clear. Another OG on the 81st minute and a brace scored by Oran McManus on the 86th and 90th minutes completed the scoring.

GREENCASTLE ROVERS 1 - 0 GREENISLAND DEV

This was a close game throughout the entire ninety minute with the deciding goal being cored by Christopher Graham on the 58th minute taking the Rovers into the next Round.

KILLYMOON RANGERS 7 -1 RED STAR

An own goal on the 4thminute put the Moon in front then Luke Patterson made it two nil on the 15th minute. The Star hit back with Andrew Hall scoring on the 31st minute. The Moon went on to score five more goals through Richard Donaghy 56th and 77th, Dylan McElhatton 68th, James Little 84th and Matthew McMenemy 86th minutes.

Linda Welshman Memorial Cup 1st Round

DESERTMARTIN SWIFTS 2 - 1 LOUGHSIDE

The Martins went in front after David Lennox scored on the 11th minute and followed this with a second goal cored by Reuben Bell on the 23rd minute. Loughside got a goal back after Mark McAuley scored on the 34th minute this being the last goal in the game.

Linda Welshman Memorial Cup 2nd Round

AHOGHILL THISTLE DEV 3 - 1 BALLYCLARE NORTH END

Thistle went in front after Cayden Erwin scored in the 1st minute but then had to wait until Jamie Archer converted a penalty on the 60th minute for their second goal. North End got a goal back after Dylan Forsythe scored on the 72nd m9nute but with time almost up Evan Johnston scored for Thistle on the 93rd minute.
