BALLYMENA and PROVINCIAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE

DUNLOY 1 - 0 BALLYNURE OB

The final game of the 2021-22 season brought the competition to a close on Tuesday and with the rain abating prior to the game kicking off it certainly lived up to expectations which pleased the good crown in attendance. Both teams went on attack at every opportunity and though both saw shots hit the crossbar no goals were scored during the first Forty-Five minutes. The second half was again a nip and tuck affair but though chances were created no goals had been scored as the clock ran down towards ninety minutes of play. Dunloy then put a good move together involving Michael O’Mullan and Martin Kan setting up the chance for Neil McNicholl to score what proved to be the winning goal on the 89th minute giving Dunloy their second Cup Final win in four days. After the final whistle, the League Chairman Ian Shiels presented the O’Gorman Cup to Douane Scott the Dunloy Captain.
