Week-ending Saturday 16th December 2023

Several games were not played as planned on Saturday 9th due to various reasons. These cases will now be decided on by the League Committee.

One game is due to be played on Saturday 23rd December with all others, teams taking both Saturday 23rd and 30th December off with a re-start on the 6th of January 2024.

LEAGUE

GROUP A

CHIMNEY CORNER 0 - 2 DESERTMARTIN

Nothing much separated the teams during the first-half other than the own goal Corner conceded in the 34th minute. The second half was again like the first other than the goal scored by Daniel Robinson on the 62nd minute securing the win for the Martins.

COOKSTOWN YOUTH 1 - 2 WELLINGTON REC

Half-time was almost reached when Rocye Balmer scored putting Wellington ahead. Wellington got a second goal scored by Daniel McIlroy on the 52nd minute and this score remained until the Youth got a goal scored by Mark Megarry on the 91st minute.

DUNLOY 5 - 0 RATHCOOLE

Dunloy took the lead after Dermott McErlain scored on the 11th minute then added a second scored by Deaglan Smith on the 25th minute. Rathcoole then had man sent off on the 41st minute followed by Keelan Molloy scoring for Dunloy on the 43rd minute. Dunloy were able to sit on their lead then goals scored by Hugh Og Boyle on the 88th minute and Karl Fitzpatrick 93rd minute completed the scoring.

WAKEHURST 0 1 BELFAST CELTIC

In a very close game between the teams the one big moment in the first half was Wakehurst having a man sent off on the 37th minute. After this Wakehurst held out until Celtic got a goal after a corner kick scored by Peter Nesbitt to collect all three points.

NEWBUILDINGS UNITED 5 - 2 STRABANE ATHLETIC

This was a good Cup tie with plenty of goals. Strabane went in front after Simon McGlynn scored on the 14th minute then Jack McClelland equalised for United on the 31st minute. United went in front after Jordan Killen scored on the 53rd minute and increased their lead when Matthew Stephenson scored on the 56th minute. United went further in front with goals scored by Jordan Killen and Darren Robb on the 63rd and 80th minutes before Cameron Coyle scored a second goal for Strabane on the 88th m8inute.

ONE

BELFAST ATHLETIC 5 - 7 INSPIRED COMMUNITY

Inspired went four goals ahead scored by Daberechi Okwor 14th, Ayub Jama 18th, Jordan Pires 22nd and 32nd Minutes. Athletic hit back with Martin Reilly scoring a brace on the 34th penalty and 36th minutes. Daberechi Okwor scored again on the 54th minute followed by Dave Finlay scoring on the 68th and Jonathan O’Neil scoring on the 73rd minutes for Athletic. Leandro Delgado scored for Inspired on the 84th minute before Sean Burns scored for Athletic on the 90th minute. The last goal was an own goal conceded by Athletic on the 97th minute.

DESERTMARTIN SWIFTS 0 - 3 GREENISLAND DEV

Greenisland went in front after Alex Haggan scored on the 9th minute and after this the Swifts had a number of chances to score that went abegging. Greenisland scored again through Patrick Moore on the 41st minute to lead two nil at half-time. The Swifts were guilty again of missing opportunities then on the 91st minute Greenisland showed how to do it when Matthew Beckett scored their third goal.

RATHCOOLE RES 4 - 4 KILLYMOON RANGERS

Rathcoole went in front after David Moore scored on the 1st minute then goals scored by Matthew McMenemy on the 12th and 15th minutes saw Killymoon in front. Rathcoole got back level after Ian Hunter scored on the 19th minute then went two goals ahead after Ian Hunter and David Moore scored on the 28th and 48th minutes. Killymoon got back on level terms after Richard Donaghy scored on the 51st and 60th minutes to take a point from the game at the end.

St JAMES SWIFTS RES 2 - 0 3rd BALLYCLARE OB

St James went in front after Stephen McDonald scored on the 37th minute and this score remained at half-time. St James increased their advantage when Martin McDonald scored on the 60th minute sealing the win.

BALLYCLARE NORTH END 1 - 2 HIGHTOWN ATHLETIC

The Athletic went in front after Josh McFadden scored on the 4th minute and this score remained until the same player scored his second goal on the 76th minute. North End never gave up the chase, but it was too late when Grahame McFarlane score on the 93rd minute.

GRANGE RANGERS 2 - 3 BALLYNURE OB ‘B’

Grange went in front after Paul Martin scored on the 31stminute then Matthew Grimason scored for the Nure on the 53rd minute. Grange went back in front after Craig Boston scored on the 70th minute then two late goals scored by Marc Campbell on the 72nd and 77th minutes won the game for Ballynure.

NEWINGTON RANGERS 5 - 3 DONEGAL CELTIC RES

Celtic went in front after Aaron Taci scored on the 8th minute. Rangers replied with goals scored by Lewis Carroll 22nd Penalty, Alexander Kerr 31st, Gareth McConnell 43rd, Lewis Carroll 53rd and Gareth Mullen 55th minutes to go four goals ahead. Celtic came back with goals scored by Ryan Martin 74th and Oran Johnston 77th minutes to narrow the gap at the end.

NORTH BELFAST UNITED 2 - 2 LOUGHSIDE

This was a close game with no goals scored during the first half. United then went in front after Brooklyn Duncan scored on the 60th minute followed by Thomas Todd equalising on the 65th minute. Loughside went in front after Lee Hendry scored on the 73rd minute then with time running down Daniel McQuillan equalised for United on the 78th minute.

GREENCASTLE ROVERS II 3 - 1 AHOGHILL THISTLE DEV

The Rovers went in front after Michael Toland scored on the 22nd minute, this goal separating the teams until Jamie Archer equalised for Thistle on the 40th minute. The game was then in the run down when Jack Parke scored on the 77th minute followed by Sean Derry scoring on the 81st minute dealing Rovers the win.

WELLINGTON RECII 1 - 0 RED STAR

This was a close game for the entire ninety minute with a goal scored by Jonathan Norrell on the 71st minutes ensuing the win for Wellington.
