FINAL

AHOGHILL THISTLE DEV 1 - 3 BELFAST ATHLETIC

In a lovely warm evening both teams started off well by playing lots of good open football. Clear chances were a little hard to come by though Keepers Denver Thompson for Thistle and Martin Crangle for Athletic were in action several times. Half-time was almost reached when the Athletic went ahead, Conor Saunders made a good run on the left to the bye line before crossing the ball into the middle where Martin Begley slotted the ball into the net on the 44th minute. The Athletic went two goals in front after Sean Burns was on hand to finish off a good move on the 52nd minute. The Athletic then went three goals ahead on the 54th minute, again it was Sean Burns on the mark scoring with a well-placed shot. Though three goals behind the less experienced Thistle never gave up the chase getting a goal when David Tennant scored on the 90th minute bringing the final whistle to which was an exceptionally good game of Football.

Referee Mr Colin Rainey.

After the final whistle, the League Vice Chairman Robert Fenton presented the Cup to the winning Captain Gary Reilly

McREYNOLDS CUP SEMI-FINAL

Both teams tended to concentrate on defence and as a result there were few clear-cut chances created during the first half until Eoghan Hawe scored for Coagh on the 43rd minute giving his team the lead at half-time. Ballynure task was a lot harder after having a man sent off on the 78th minute which saw Coagh defend their position to the final whistle and claim a place in the Final of the Competition.
