BALLYMENA and PROVINCIAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE

All the teams got back into action on Saturday including Ballymoney United who travelled to Newington Rangers in the 5th Round of the Irish Cup. Ballymoney went a goal behind on the 52nd minute then Gerald Gillen equalised on the 56th minute. This score remained until the 81st minute when Newington got the winning goal.

Saturday will see Domestic Cup games played across all Four Divisions including Four games in the CAFA Junior Shield. All game games will kick off at 1.30pm except games in the Linda Welshman Memorial Cup that will kick off @ 2.00pm as the games are First Leg Games with no Extra-time.

INTERMDIATE

LEAGUE

BRANTWOOD 0 - 5 COAGH UNITED

Coagh went I front after Aaron Campbell scored on the 25th minute then were two goals in front after Eoghan Hawe scored on the 36th minute. Coagh extended their lead to three goals after Aaron Campbell scored his second goal on the 49th minute. Coagh went on to score two more goals through Ryan McMenemy on the 62nd minute and Craig Archer on the 85th minute.

COOKSTOWN YOUTH 0 - 0 BELFAST CELTIC

This was a very close game with both teams playing lots of good attacking football. Alas no goals were scored though the Youth went close when hitting the Celtic crossbar.

DESERTMARTIN 0 - 0 DUNLOY

The Martins with Gareth Pitts back in the managers role gave a good account of themselves against a good strong team in Dunloy. Clear goal scoring chances were few scarce with the teams taking a point each.

GLEBE RANGERS 5 - 2 WAKEHURST

Gleb were first to settle taking the lead after Davy Reid scored on the 12th minute. Wakehurst hit back with Glenn Vance scoring on the 21st minute. Wakehurst had a man sent off on the 36th minute then Glebe went in front again after Darren Hendeson converted a penalty on the 37th minute. Darren Hendeson extended Glebe lead after scoring his second goal on the 44th minute. Wakehurst got a goal back after Conor Doherty scored on the 62nd minute but Glebe sealed the win after Scotty Douglas scored on the 69th minute and Joshua Elliott on the 90th minute.

St JAMES SWIFTS 1 - 1 BALLYNURE OB

Both teams played it very tight during the first=half which resulted in no goals scored at half-time. A similar situation was evident in the second half until Alexander Crawford scored for Ballynure on the 70th minute. Time was then beginning to run down when St James got back level after Eugene Gallagher converted a penalty on the 81st minute.

WELLINGTON REC 3 - 1 DONEGAL CELTIC

The Rec went in front after Ryan McNickle scored on the 17th minute then doubled their advantage when James Wylie scored on the 27th minute. The Rec went three goals clear after Christopher Guiller scored on the 55th minute and this score remained until Thomas Kerr scored for Celtic on the 70th minute.

JUNIOR DIVISIONS

LEAGUE Div One

WOODLANDS 2 - 0 ANTRIM ROVERS

Woodlands went in front after Scott Query scored on the 35th minute and this goal separated the teams at half-time. Woodlands got a second goal after Scott Laughlin scored on the 94th minute to take all three points.

St JAMES SWIFTS RES 1 - 2 KILLYMOON RANGERS

St James went in front after Mark McDonald scored on the 8th minute then Max Brady equalised for Killymoon on the 28th minute. Both teams then had a chance or two to score before Max Brady scored his second goal on the 70th minute that won the points for Killymoon.

BELFAST ATHLETIC 0 - 2 GREENCASTLE ROVERS

After a steady start by both teams Rovers scored two goals inside Two minutes, first Jordan O’Kane scoring on the 21st minute and Sean Southam on the 23rd minute that sealed the win at the end.

COOKSTOWN OLYMPIC 2 0 RATHCOOLE

In a very close game no goals wee scored in the first half of the game. Things changed when Aiden Doyle scored on the 68th minute putting the Olympic in front. The Olympic got a second goal after James McGahan scored on the 83rd minute to seal the win though Rathcoole had a man sent off on the 91st minute followed by a second man on the 94th minute.

Div Two

BALLYNURE OB ‘B’ 3 - 3 RED STAR

Ballynure went in front after Jake Smith scored on the 12th minute then Matthew McFaul equalised for Red Star on the 16th minute. Marc Campbell put Ballynure back in front on the 48th minute followed by Lloyd Watters equalising for Red Star on the 51st minute. Marc Campbell gave Ballynure the lead again on the 69th minute then Lloyd Watters equalised on the 80th minute to complete the scoring on the Day.

LOUGHSIDE FC 2 - 1 DESERTMARTIN SWIFTS

Loughside went in front after Chris Torrens scored on the 8th minute and followed this with a second goal scored by Stuart Moore on the 14th minute. After this it was an even game with no more goals scored before half-time. The Swifts got a goal back when Jeff Morton scored on the 49th minute but try as they did for the equaliser Loughside won by the odd goal in Three.

RATHCOOLE RESERVES 0 - 2 3rd BALLYCLARE OB

Both teams had a chance to score but at half-time the scoreline was blank. Things changed in the second half

with Bradley Yip scoring for the Old Boys on the 59th minute. Time was then on the run down when Jason Cowan ensured the win for the Old Boys after he scored on the 81st minute.

GREENCASTLE ROVERS II 1 - 1 GREENISLAND III

Chances came and went for both team before Sean Derry scored for the Rovers on the 48th minute. Rovers then had a man sent off on the 52nd minute. After this on the 67th minute Stephen Service scored for the Islanders to take a point from the game.

Div Three

SOFIA FARMER 2 - 3 NEWINGTON RANGERS

The Rangers went in front after Lindsay Carroll scored on the 28th minute this being followed by a second goal scored by Gareth Hastings on the 45th minute. Sofia got a goal back after Andre Vaz scored on the 69th minute then Lindasy Carroll scored his second goal in the game on the 86th minute. The game was in stoppage time when Aduramane So converted a penalty for Sofia.

NORTH BELFAST UNITED 4 - 2 WELLINGTON REC II

The Rec went in front after the North conceded an own goal on the 13th minute then on the 26th minute the teams were back level after Mark Davey scored for the North. The Rec went ahead for a second time after Corey McGucken scored on the 38th minute. The North then went on to score three goals to win with goals being scored by Brooklyn Duncan 58th minute, Mark Davey 75th minute and Joe Larkin 81st minute.
