MATCH REPORTS

SATURDAY 5th November 2022

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Saturday is a day we will not want to see repeated but unfortunately there is every chance it will.

In the Junior Divisions we could have played eight games but unfortunately, we had only one Junior Referee available to carry out this task. To rub salt in the wound one of our Teams Junior Shield was called off twenty minutes prior to kick off. Message on Comet was the designated referee has suffered an injury.

The IFA Council, Football and Referees Committees must sort this out. What they must do is by setting the parameters that Junior Referees must adhere to. This situation of a referee covering up Seven and Eight Youth Matches over the weekend at the expense of Junior Leagues must be Stopped otherwise Junior Football will Die.

Sympathy

The Deepest sympathy of everyone connected to the league is extended to Niall Hunter and his family on the sudden death of his father Mervyn and to the Family of Alex Caughey the Brantwood stalwart who passed away through the week. Both gentlemen will be sorely missed by their Families
