DUNLOY win the Crawford Cup on Friday Evening defeating Ballymoney United 3-2.

The McREYNOLDS Cup Final of the Season will be played on Friday Evening 10th May 2024

CRAWFORD CUP FINAL

BALLYMONEY UNITED 2 - 3 DUNLOY

The first forty-five minutes saw both teams cancel each other out with few clear chances created.

The second half was a different story as Dunloy pushed forward and after a good move Kyle Robinson was put clear to run in and scored on the 54th minute. Dunloy went close to scoring again but Keeper Jonathan Holland brought off a couple of top class saves for Ballymoney. Dunloy then went two goals in front, again it was Kyle Robinson who was on the mark with his second goal on the 80th minute. Time was then running down when Paul Keane struck home a well-placed free kick on the 86th minute giving Ballymoney hope which came after being awarded a penalty on the 93rd minute which Jake Francis converted. The game was then in the 95th minute when a free kick for Dunloy was diverted by the arm of a Ballymoney defender leaving Karl Fitzpatrick to convert the penalty winning the game for Dunloy.

The Cup was presented to the Dunloy Captain Duane Scott winners medals to the players by the League Vice Chairperson Robert Fenton.

Group B

STRABANE ATHLETIC 4 - 0 BELFAST CELTIC

This was a crucial game for both teams who were trying to cement their place in the top half of the Group. Strabane went in front after Bradley Callaghan scored on the 29th minute then added a second goal scored by Declan Sharkey on the 40th minute to lead two nil at half-time. An OG on the 50th minute saw Strabane three goals clear which became Four after Simon McGlynn scored on the 71st minute.

NEWBUILDINGS UNITED 4 - 1 St JAMES SWIFTS

The buildings took an early lead after Darren Robb converted a penalty on the 8th minute and this goal separated the teams at half-time and the Swifts had a man sent off on the 34thiminute. Three more goals followed for Buildings scored by Jack Bradley 64th, Steven Wallace 81st and 90th minute with Eugene Gallagher scoring for the Swifts on the 89th minute.

AHOGHILL THISTLE DEV 7 - 1 BALLYCLARE NORTH END

The Thistle went in front after Evan Johnston scored on the 4th minute and followed with another five goals scored by Jamie Archer 16th and 35th, William Barr 35th, Issac Wylie 42nd and Evan Johnston 45th Minutes before half-time. Isaac Wylie scored his second goal on the 55th minute followed by Stephen Howe scoring for North End on the 61st minute.

GRANGE RANGERS 1 - 3 WELLINGTON REC II

Grange went in front after Jake Woods scored on the 16th minute then the Rec replied with Callum McLean scoring on the 32nd and Jack McKenna on the 41st minutes to lead at half-time. The Rec got a third goal scored by Darryl Baston on the 57th minute which sealed the win for them.

NORTH BALLYMENA RGS 1 - 3 LOUGHSIDE

The Rangers went in front after Gavin Gilmore scored on the 40th minute then Lee Hendry scored a brace for Loughside on the 53rd and 71st minutes. Time was then running down when Samuel McCormick sealed the win for Loughside when he scored on the 92nd minute.

St James took an early lead after Stephen McDonald scored on the 4th minute then followed with a second goal scored by Habeeb Ramos on the 35th minute to have the advantage at half-time. Chances came and went for both teams in the second half, but no more goals were scored.
