Belfast Athletic win the Linda Welshman Memorial Cup by defeating Killymoon Rangers on penalties.

Strabane Athletic lose out to Oxford-Sunnyside by 2-3 in their play-off games to decide who gets promoted to the PIL.

The Last Cup Final of the Season the O’Gorman Cup dated 1896 is as follows:

Teams = Maiden City v Strabane Athletic

Venue = Allen Park. Antrim (Chimney Corner Ground)

Kick off = 7.30pm

P.I.L. PLAY-OFF FINAL

OXFORD-SUNNYSIDE 1 -0 1 STRABANE ATHLETIC

In an evenly contested game no goals were scored during the first half of the game. Strabane went in front after Aaron O’Hagan scored on the 48th minute. Time was beginning to run down when Jordan Bell scored the equaliser setting the game nicely balance for the second game.

STRABANE ATHLETIC 1 - 2 OXFORD-SUNNYSIDE

Oxford started off early in attack which paid good result in Padraig Judge scoring on the 12th minute. Strabane tried hard to get back into the game but fell further behind when Gary Lavery scored a second goal for Oxford on the 28th minute. Half-time saw Oxford still two goals clear then as time was running out and Own Goal saw Strabane back in the game but alas, they could not get the elusive equaliser leave Oxford to take the promotion Spot in the PIL

LINDA WELSHMAN MEMORIAL CUP FINAL

KILLYMOON RANGERS 2 - 2 BELFAST ATHLETIC (Athletic win 3-0 on Penalties)

The Moon went in front after James Little scored on the 5th minute. The Athletic hit back with Sean Burns scoring on the 14th minute. Killymoon went back in front after Matthew Menemy scored on the 36th minute with the score remaining at half-time. The Athletic had a chance to score from the penalty spot on the hour but the ball struck the top side of the crossbar. Time was then running down when Martin Reilly scored the equaliser on the 84th minute taking the game to extra-time. No goals were scored in extra-time with Penalties then being taken. In this the hero was keeper Pearse McKillop for the Athletic who saved the first Three Killymoon penalties and the Athletic scoring their first three to lift the Cup.

After the game the cup was presented to the Athletic Captain Gary Reilly by the League chairman Ian Shiels
